Might be lower now.

I'm not a person who types much, so I get tired around the middle.

Still, I type pretty quickly IMO.
>>
About 75, at my very fastest I touch on 80, would like to get around 100

Just got 110 with 2 mistakes.

This is the fastest I've ever gotten though.
>>
>>52474900
Do you use 3 or 4 fingers by any chance? Two on the left and two on the right? That's how I type and I get basically the same results as you and this guy >>52474847
>>
I type only with 2 fingers and hit backspace a lot but I manage 80.
I feel like I've hit the ceiling, but I don't feel like unlearning 15 years of bad habits just to go slightly faster.
>>
>>52474995
I used to, then I realised I was typing in a retarded way, and I learnt home row, wasn't too long ago, so I hope my speed will keep increasing cause I kinda capped out typing with 2 fingers each side

Just got home, hands are cold plus it's a new keyboard. Can do 140+ on my work keyboard.
>>

Homerow feels extremely weird for me, but it's probably worth learning.

It will take a wihle to unlearn my current habit...

anyway, mine's a $5 chinese rubbedrome

That's mine, Cooler Master quickfire rapid-i with brown switches.

Doesn't matter what keyboard you have, I've just a normal dell membrane one at work and I can do 140+ on it, I guess people process information differently. Since a kid I've been able to type quickly especially since I just type countless e-mails at work.
>>

Why does wpm matter?
>>
pls no bully
>>
>>52475878
matters for internet reputation
>>
>>52475893
did you hunt and peck with your dick?
>>
>>52475878
It matters when you have a WPM of 60
but anything above 90 and it's irrelevant for a while
>>
>>52475878
average wpm is 40
imagine typing twice as slowly as you do now
that's how slow most people are
>>
>>52475878
People that look at every key before they type exist.

let that sink in
>>
>>52474690
Did it 5 times and averaged around 70 WPM.
Is that good or bad?

Also >>52475999 checked
>>
>>52475999
you don't ?

I'm at 75ish~ WPM and aiming for 100 but don't know what to improve. I'm touch typing with QWERTY, on a DAS Keyboard Professional with blue switches and really want to improve. Can anyone give me some advice?

Well, considering English isn't my first language and I'm typing on a rubber dome keyboard that's over ten years old, I think I did alright.

it's ok but below average /g/ standards, way above normie standards

Practice, what else. You type, and the you type faster. That's literally it.

Why do you want to reach a 100 tho? What is typing at 75WPM preventing you from doing that a 100WPM rate would let you do? The only way I see your WPM being relevant is if you're court stenographer. Do those even exist anymore?

This is a big reason why everyone loves Thinkpads.

This is from my T60, I doubt I could break 80WPM on my mushy Toshiba Satellite piece of shit.
>>
>>52476185
Use that website for 10 minutes every day and type long posts on 4chan. That's it.

>>52476259
Or he doesn't know the proper way to? 86 WPM with 4 fingers here, without using the homerow.
>>
>>52476243
Because you don't.

If you want actual advice, well, I suppose you could play The Typing of the Dead or something.

I usually type at 77 WPM (with 86 being my top result).

I can't get below 70 WPM, even when I make a lot of mistakes.
>>
people thinking their WPM is good because normal keyboards - I have a FILCO brown switch and I typed faster on my generic plastic thingy that I no longer use.
>>
>>52476536
It's not the gear that matters, just like everything else.

If you have the skill, you'll come extremely close to the "pros", or hell, even outmatch them.

Believe in yourselves, /g/entoomen!
