Hey /g/, I used to have accounts on BitGamer and UndergroundGamer, was a power user with good ratios and buffer and all before both died, but after that I just kinda drifted back to public trackers and didn't think too much about it. Those were my only experience with private trackers.

As mentioned in the OP, start off on What.CD or AnimeBytes (who have interviews/applications, and so are much easier to join than other trackers) and advance to PU on either of those, and you will get to most places from there.

The only real time consuming requirement for PU on AB is the 2 week old account.
It only requires 10 uploads and 25GB uploaded with a 0.7 ratio.
You can get 10 uploads in an hour so the uploads aren't an issue at all.

Since I was helped today, I feel like helping back. I don't have an invite to give, but I have valuable advice. Even if you get an invite in that email, do not accept it, you'll just get banned.
When asking for an invite, use a throwaway email (mention it as being such), so the inviter can message your throwaway email from a throwaway of his own, then you answer him with your real email, and he sends an invite to that.
This way, neither of you run risks.
Also, AB is open for registration. If you aren't a casual with poor taste in anime that only knows the big four, and can name some famous JPop singers, and justify your choices, it's easy to get in.
