I keep seeing complaints about this. I just navigate down the list via keyboard till I find the image I want. Is that so difficult? Organize your reaction folder to where you don't need to stare down thumbnails like a fucking caveman.

Not all of us have 10 minutes to find an image.

>>52182151
KDE on CentOS doesn't solve this problem either. CentOS, OpenSUSE, RHEL are also the only usable well supported linux distros with an actual company backing them with proper timely security patches and the only ones anyone should ever bother using.
Sadly loonix is just stuck in 1995 usability where it will stay for the rest of this decade and probably the next decade as well.
>>52182327
>10 minutes to find an image
Do you just dump your shit into one folder with out tags and names?
>>52182387
Yes because I don't have hours to spend tagging images. People who have been here for a long time have thousands of images.

Nobody does this

Yeah and I figured out back in 2006 that it would be a good idea to actually sort those thousands of images.

IT manager here.
We use all three OSs, because each has its use.
Windows on desktop - Proper well supported desktop OS for all employees to get shit done. Full suite and backend tools for managing the entire fleet from IT dept.
Windows on servers - Excellent as domain controllers for management purposes, linux DCs also serve as good backup DCs. Exchange is tolerable. It's annoying when it breaks but frankly no one has ever come up with a better solution with all the functionality it offers, so there's no real alternative.
Linux on servers - Lean stable single purpose servers that are easy to troubleshoot as they can be reduced down to minimal services.
Linux on desktop - A complete joke and completely unsuitable for anything besides software development. If someone even suggests putting it on a machine that's used by marketing/accounting/engineering/etc, that someone is going to be looking forward to a performance review and a new job.
OSX on desktop - Flashy brightly colored rounded buttons GUI and fancy animations. Lets the CEO think he's hip and trendy despite the fact he's a 300lb landwhale.
OSX on servers - Good joke.

As it is now my computer runs and runs well and works for weeks on end. If I wanted shiny bells and whistles it'd be less hassle to upgrade to Tumbleweed than it would to install Leap. Only thing I care is fresh and updated is mpv and Packman does a nice job of keeping up with that (and time before last I checked didn't even support Leap).
>>52182852
It's not Obama running those accounts mate, just a PR team

Packman supports Leap now, but codec support is a little dodgy as always. I love SUSE, but they need to focus on refining the experience more if they ever want to catch up to Fedora.

This is literally THE ONLY REASON to ever use linux besides development, and even that's starting to lose traction now that windows server core has come out and integrates better with other windows servers.
>>52182956
I drag and drop to pick files on KDE too. GNOME is fun to use and Fedora would be great if it let me at least compile rlvm so I can play my Keyshit. Or go more than a week without rebooting.

Where exactly do you find that "non-thumbnail" file managers/distros? Because i tried few distros and all of them had thumbnails so i wonder what's the problem here?

Maybe you should be reading more carefully. The thread is about thumbnails in browser dialog box when you click "choose file" to upload an image.
>>52188715

No it's GTKs fault. GTK is very much a core OS component in most loonix distros. This is a problem for all programs using the gtk file picker, not just browsers.

Step 1 of the Linux user handbook: If something doesn't work for you, tell yourself that you don't really need it anyway.
>>52188955
Exactly.
Linux, as a desktop client, always feels half-baked. There's always some minor thing not working correctly or missing.
There are also regressions every few months after installing updates with things breaking which worked fine before.
>>52188893
I installed Arch and when I realized that I wouldn't have easy access to my hundred steam games, I went back to Windows. might dual boot at some point though. I don't see the point in only using a riced up os that can't run my casul programs.
