>neuromorphic and 3d stacked processors embedded in a plane fuel pod
So that's where the billions dollars of america defence budget go.

IBM's Synapse is pretty ballin. Non Von Neumann architectures are the only thing that will bring about another radical paradigm shift in performance for conventional ICs. Probably one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken in computing.
>>
>/g/ not caring about actual technology

Why is /g/ such a pleb board
>>
>>52110590
Most of the board is desktop threads, vidya game benches, and cellphone recommendations.
>>
>>>/sci/

Techloli/g/y died a long time ago. This is now /v/'s tech support board for redditors. Try one of the other technology boards.
>>
>>52110590
I don't know enough about this to comment on it so I don't.
>>
>>52108602
How long until Gentoo can be installed on it?
>>
>>52108618
I feel like I was born too late to actually be a computer scientist. I just started college and I've had this idea since I've known what neural networks were and someone's already doing it. I feel like by the time I graduate im going to be so horribly out of my depth that I won't be able to catch up and live at the same time
>>
>>52111978
If anything you were born too early. If you grew up with something like this you'd have the advantage of not needing to learn it later in life.
>>
my science dick is rock hard
yukekaze fucking when
>>
>>52111978
You know, I actually enjoy not being a part of it.
It's nice enough to see such rapid progress.
It leaves me optimistic for the future of humanity.

Neural nets and fusion were sci-fi shit when I was a kid. The web as we know it did not exist. The cell phone was still an executive's toy. Virtual reality was a joke. Now here we are, on the cusp of technological revolution.
What a fucking ride
>>
>>52110590
This board has been taken over by /v/ and they refuse to leave.
>>
When can I buy this and how much?

>tfw not important enough to be accepted into SyNAPSE Uni.

They better write a book or something!

/g/ is consumers, not hardware engineers
>>
>>52114720
We need to split this board into /g/ - consumer technology and /λ/ - Computer Science.

Why the hell would plane fuel pods need autonomous computing? Not very versed in this.
>>
>>52108602
So they're putting massive fuck-off processors in the fuel tanks of planes?
And IBM's synapse chips at that?
Oh USA, I'm lost for words.
>>
>>52115383
>>52115394
The tanks aren't filled with fuel, idiots!
There's just no more space in the place for the 50lbs of computer so they stuff the computer in the tank which can easily be mounted into the wing of the aircraft.

This thread really does deserve a bump after the crash.
A legit AI thread and no-one's here, whilst an ex machina or elon musk one would reach bump limit.
