If we get to this point, you will either be so subjugated by your nonfree machines and the people that own them (and subsequently, you) that such a novel thought won't even be possible,
or, such retardedness will be a quaint thing of bizarre human history.

Which of these worlds are your choices and actions helping to bring about?
>>
>>52097438
It's simply a placeholder for a lack of matter; a state of not existing. The zero is meant to indicate a space without information. Tell me I'm wrong.

Ok, so in a technical sense, you're correct. However, if you think of what "0" really represents and notice how it shares almost no properties with other natural numbers, you'll realize that zero truly isn't a number. Since the beginning of counting systems and the zero's genesis, zero has represented nothing, a lack of being. It was invented to stop shady business men in early markets from shortchanging somebody the proper amount. It's simply a placeholder, a "number" between numbers.
>>
>>52097608
its just as much of a number than all the other numbers. a 1 is a placeholder for a single thing, a 0 is a placeholder for no things

u wrong

>>
>>52097608
Zero is not a natural number. But it is a number. It has almost all of properties of other numbers (the obvious exception is you can't divide by it).
>>
>>52097621
1 represents some tangible thing. Zero represents a lack of some tangible thing. Therefore, zero represents nothing.

I'll accept that I'm wrong in a technical sense, I'm just here to fuck with people. I enjoy bullshitting debates.

There are no illegal results. Possession and sale of chemicals is illegal. And we are talking about actual physical things, not numbers.

>>
>>52097608
bitch, shut the fuck up
>>
>>52098094
I'm pretty sure you will not be charged for processes that happen in your brain. Hence they are not illegal.
>>
>>52098103
But you can be charged for the aftermath of those processes.
Hence,
>reactions in your brain lead to illegal results
>>
>>52098112
> you can be charged for the aftermath
What exactly are you going to be charged for?
>>
>>52098126
I don't know, shooting up your school? Whatever illegal thing you choose, senpai.
>>
>>52098135
Well, anon, guns don't kill people. People kill people. Don't blame your actions on chemicals.
>>
>>52098140
People controlled by chemicals that Universe randomly injected in their brains kill people.
>>
>>52098126
Reminder that that the number one factor in most murder cases is impulse.
Also the number one factor in suicide is depression, which is also a malfunction in brain processes.
A lot of stuff is done without you really thinking that it was because of changes in your body, and not because you wanted to.

Oh.
OH.

Now I get what you mean. You're not talking about drug use at all.

Well, that has no relevance to OP at all then.
>>
>>52098194
It still does in a roundabout way. And it can still relate to drugs, because you don't get addicted to and have cravings simply because you want to or like it, but because of ongoing chemical reactions in your system.
Breathing, eating, all sorts of bodily functions that we take for granted and simply think of as natural can be expanded to include other things like killing, drug abuse and self-mutilation.

Also in America, Tarek Mehenna was jailed for translating Al Qaida litterature in America, it is considering "aiding terrorist organizations". Anwar al Awlaki (a american citizen) was drone bombed and killed without a trial because he wrote for some english language al qaida magazine. (his teenage son was killed some weeks later because he was his son.) Neither had done anything technically illegal and there was no trial, but in practice they were also punished by the US government for certain arrangement of words, rendering it practically illegal.

>On the other hand, virtually all of the early number systems are missing something that the HinduArabic
system has, and which turns out to be much more important than a symbol for ten. And
that's the zero.
>Yes, the zero. The lowly zero is without a doubt one of the most important inventions in the history of
numbers and mathematics. It supports positional notation because it allows differentiation of 25 from
205 and 250. The zero also eases many mathematical operations that are awkward in nonpositional
systems, particularly multiplication and division.

But 4 is less then 40, so no
And if numbers weren't numbers cause they stated a "lack of matter" negative numbers wouldn't be numbers either. 0 holds the same information as any other number. What about decimals like .000000001?

This right here is the problem with people who don't study math: they think it's by nature an abstraction of the real world, so a number just "means" something.
0 is a number, it's not a placeholder for anything. Fuck your face.

>>
>>52100395
Not really. In many cases null can convey a lot of information, even in practical cases like existence of row in SQL query result with just null in it.
