this is more of a useful thing if you're trying to repair an old laptop that uses IDE instead of SATA drives, as IDE laptop drives are nearly impossible to find new-stock of these days.

There's no speed increase, obviously, since you're limited by the ATA133 spec (if you're even that lucky).

Some people like long boot up times, and like to saviour the loading times. with SSDs there is pretty much no loading times at all. You basically lose that feature AND you pay money to lose loading screens people have spent time coding. that is why SSDs are memes.

I think he means significant speed increases.
With an ssd you usually go from a hard drive limited to around 80MB/s iirc, to 550MB/s, but with the pata ssd you go from around 40MB/s to 80-90 MB/s, which is a decent improvement especially when you factor in seek and spin, but not worth the price for such an old system.

What makes the SSD so good is not that it has high raw throughput but rather that the seek times are a tenth of what they are on the HDD.

>I'd actually take back my statement as Liquid Cooling could be useful for servers, but It doesn't need to be marketed for the average "gaymur" the way that it is right now.
Oh no i totally agree on that, it's just that at a certain point you need to start turning up the fans if you want adequate cooling. liquid can remain silent.

The only issue with this current setup is that the 7990 has a piece of shit heatsink and fans.
The processor just doenst give a fuck.

dude - that thing is the BEST at filling up precision dice with color.

just rub that crayon shit into the numbers and wipe it off - perfect

I have two sets of precision dice that I filled the numbers with, this way.

Pump

Silent

>>52047290
>Liquid cooling
>Silence
>Fans making noise
>Pump making noise
I mean I guess you CAN move the source of the noise out of your room by putting the radiator and pump elsewhere, but then it's easier to just move the PC into another room and run cables through the wall.

Liquid cooling being quieter than air cooling is a common misconception. Air is the quieter one of the two.

If they actually said that they're fucking retarded. This is basic QoS technology, except by default it just prioritizes gaming traffic over all other traffic on the network, so that people torrenting and streaming don't cause any lag or rate cap on game data traffic.

They're supposed to provide better ping times which is nothing but a marketing gimmick. They're not as common today, but back in the early 2000's when broadband internet first started to become popular they were a pretty big deal. I never bought into them or bought one. Always just used modems my ISP provided me and never had an issue.
