How would you save AMD, Anon?
>>
>>52012598
By letting them die. It's the only way to save them from endless "How would you save AMD" threads.
>>
1. Keep my FX-8350
2. Won't let Jews make money off me
3. Buy FX-6300s for new budget builds for me or anyone else I build a pc for and 8350s for higer end builds
4. wear my AMD is rockin! t-shirt everywhere I go.

>not buying 8320e's and oc'ing it to 4.5 ghz if needed

skylake i3 rapes the 6300 now, and the 8350 its too expensive for what it is now.

the fx 8320e its the best cpu from amd, fite me.

Proprietary an as such inherently unverifiable benchmarks don't count.

Wow, nice job fucking up someone's pc and wasting their money when they put their faith in you

They actually have zero complaints

i dont really care, as im about to go sleep, its 4 am here so cya.

also, that ddr4 its starting to make a difference in vidya.

Switch to ARM only. Intel doesn't have long left if they don't do this also
>>
>>52012900
You do realise that implies "ceasing to exist", right? Besides, x86 still destroys ARM in performance, there's a reason ARM isn't used on real computers.

I love these threads, everyone is just asking for more advanced and powerful, free hardware.
>>
>>52012674
I also built my rig with the FX-6300 and one of my friends i suggested the FX-8350. This was 2 years ago and no complaints till now...
>>
>>52013497
Pretty much everything non-embedded or not constrained by battery technology.
>>
>inb4 poorfag
yes

I have amd fx-6100 and 8gbs of ddr3 ram and i literally don't know why would i need more.
I used once 3.5gbs of ram which is not even a half of it.
Tell me why should i upgrade i am not a gametard ,i am not a visual designer or some shit.
I lurk and sometimes make music in FL

A desktop or laptop computer that runs a real OS instead of Jewish bullshit designed to force feed media and "apps" to brainwashed Amerifats. Ideally, it would also have superior input methods such as a keyboard and pointing device instead of the cheaper and easier to manufacture touch screens that have become all too common.
>>
I would have samsung manufacture chips for them on their 14nm process and then the 10nm process samsung have lined up before intel does in 2017
>>
It may be a dumb question but why not make bigger cpus ?
The ones we have are tiny
why they aren't like 15x15cm ? More space ,less complicated to make and more powerful.
>>
>>52013808
Heat.
>>
>>52013808
Probably because it would mean a new motherboard size to be able to fit all the same components on. Making a new standard mobo size and getting case manufacturers and mobo manufacturers to adopt it is probably a lot more hard work than just going to a smaller nm process
>>
Make amd CPUs intel rebrands with a red box
>>
>>52013848
Uhhh, that's not really the issue. Mobo manufacturers have to deal with new sockets and shit all the time, they would adapt.

There's just no advantage to having a huge CPU rather than having a dual-CPU setup. The constraint is heat, which gets bigger as shit gets bigger, which is why CPUs are small and they focus on smaller processes which generate less heat.
>>
>>52013873
Sockets change often but size isnt drastically changed between say lga775 and 1150.
I envisioned more like how amd fury uses a chip thats like 1.5x the size of the 200 series cards. If the cpu was scaled up in size that much surely its bound to complicate things?
>>
>>52013873
Oh, and latency too.
>>
Got a Skylake i5 instead of a 8350 for my current build. Kinda regretting it, but I don't know if I should be.
>>
>>52013914
If AMD wanted to go in that direction, they'd be smarter going for a more integrated solution, offering motherboards with embedded CPUs, graphics and memory, except being non-shit. Basically offering a console-like hardware except for PC. I could see there being some upside to that, especially with AMD being entrenched in the console space.

Why is it that Intel almost only wins in unverifiable closed-source benchmarks
and AMD usually leads in open source benchmarks?

AMD doesn't perform too bad in propriety benchmarks either.
>>
>>52014098
AMD only wins in synthetic benchmarks.

>>
>>52014155
The thing is, AMD shouldn't even need to beat Intel, especially since AMD is cheaper. In every-day usage, AMD is practically fast. The only exception is performance-intensive single-threaded tasks (i.e. games, basically).
>>
>>52013808

Heat and latency.

That's why we're going for smaller litographies, CPUs may have hit the sweet spot on die size.
>>
>>52014812
desu kind of wonder whether AMD should start pushing dual-CPU as standard, like they have done on consoles.
