C++ is to C as Lung Cancer is to Lung.
Prove me wrong. Protip:
you can't.
>>51995676
No it's extra cancer, that's what 'C' stands for.
>>51995676
>I don't understand it so it must be shit
gr8 effort m8

wendell and logan?
I agree, C++ is one of those languages that just has too much features, baggage and crap attached to it.
A language should enforce modest application design.
>>51995784
Not a problem since you can choose which features you can use.
Also, there are plenty more languages that have more "features" than c++
const is the best language feature ever, prove me wrong
>>51996272
I don't know what that is. Now explain it or it sucks.
I have to learn C++ in my CS major, sadly.
Why does C++ exist? Why couldn't they just do C instead of C++.
>using sepples

>b-b-but I need my multiple inheritance and everything must be an object! I'm also severely autistic and enjoy reading undecipherable error messages
fixed
>I'm too much of a special snowflake to use smart pointers
Ok then faggot, whatever you do your shit and I do mine?
>>51997110
>C++
>Everything must be an object
kek
>>51997154
why would you use sepples over C unless you're obsessed with OOP?
>>51996993
A constant you ballsack
Templates and virtual functions are nice
>>51996272
...like constant vars? Like they don't change?const string "OP is a faggot"; // <--- ?
>>51995676
What's C# then?
>>51996272
I don't think they're that useful for something like C++. Now for JavaScript, where you've got a special kind of asynchronous hell, it's pretty nice.
>>51997226
const int* HowBigAFaggot(const list<faggotry>& flist) const;
>>51997269
Too bad that js doesn't have const like C++ though.
>>51997240
Treated cancer by operation, hence the sharp - scalpel
The best language there is
>>51997328
This.
C# is literally God-tier
>>51997350
>>51997328
What is the appeal to C#? C with .NET libraries?
>>51997360
the only language I know besides C++, plus it's the one I'm learning at the moment
basically
>god tier
what I use
>normal tier
what I used
>shit tier
everything else
>>51997360
The real beauty is that it's caretaker is an organization that gives a shit about it. All the other pieces just fall into place after that.
>>51997392
Now would that be the devs for the .NET libraries or C# devs so syntax and the like?
>>51997414
Both. Microsoft pours resources into both, so both advance quickly.
The entire MSFT stack has a decently size barrier to entry that is cost (although most tools can legally be acquired for free now), but if you are willing to bite that bullet, the entirety of the platform is one of the most developer friendly that exists.
