I'm actually surprised Nvidia didn't out a Titan with dual Maxwell chips, I guess they're skipping it after the failure of the Titan Z, even though Maxwell's higher efficiency would lend better to a dual chip card.

I personally don't consider it full fiji because it throttles to maintain the 175w tdp.
I don't understand why AMD didn't just skip the fury x and release the nano instead, but without the throttling.

The nano is really great, for me at least. I went from a tri-x 290, because I wanted a bit of a performance bump, and I moved to an ITX case, making it the best card for those constraints. It stays more than adequately cool, and it's never truly audible unless it's getting absolutely hammered, no louder than the tri-x to a noticeable extent. It's a damn potent card, even with the constraints on power it has. I've heard promising things about messing with the power limiter and OCing it to Fury X performance also, might try that if I need more oomph later. Also they make water blocks for the nano, making it basically a better fury x since you can put a nice quite pump and such on it

Why would you pay the same price as a Fury X for a permanently gimped card?
Why would you buy a waterblock for it when the power delivery firmware prevents you from fully unlocking the card to Fury X level performance?

At least some Fury cards can be flashed with a Fury X profile and unlock all cores on the Fiji. The Nano has all cores unlocked except the power delivery and frequency is permafucked.

Dual cards are awesome now that you have proper multi-GPU support in APIs (D3D12, Vulkan) instead of just Crossfire/SLI. You can basically just do twice the work at once, since memory is shared.

bandwidth between cards is much higher and software actually works with both of them out of the box.
It's not something to build a supercomputer with, but it sounds good enough for workstations etc.

You seem more than a little ass wrecked dawg, I got a good price for a good card. It's not nearly 3.5 gimped status, I would scarcely call it gimped at all frankly. It's tailor made for its niche, and to bemoan it's lower clocks which put it a mere 10% behind a Fury X at the worst of times, is to discard the truth that it is a massive leap in performance for cards with modest wattage.
