Not seemingly, provenly. I've been doing it for the past year, first Yosemite and then El Capitan. I followed a simple guide to install it and then googled the solutions to a handful of niggling issues. With that done, my system works perfectly and is rock-solid stable.
I should stress that I (coincidentally) had ideal hardware for it- Haswell CPU, Gigabyte motherboard. On other hardware, it's apparently more troublesome; but I'd strongly encourage anyone to give it a try.

An average os x user probably doesn't know how to set up a static ip, they didn't get a pop up asking thel if they wanted one. If they do need to set up one they'll have to call apple support. Thirdly it's the most paranoid os, you download a .rar from the internet and it deletes it because "files from an untrusted source may harm your macpoop". And last but not least. The desktop is so bloated, oh my god. You have 3 seperate browser windows? You get three separate "app" icons in the "launchpad or whatever it's called*. Before you know you're literally scrolling through the launchpad to find your browser, that's very convenient amirite? And also an iphone 6s outperforms a macbook. I use Notes and iBooks all the time, Mail is solid if you don't use webmail, Safari is a good browser unlike IE, etc. I don't use all of them but it's not like they get in the way. I just remove them from the dock. I could delete them if I want, but it's not like I'm hurting for free space, so who cares?

Your opinion is fair enough but most people would not agree with this. The icons are restrained and consistent. I never find myself thinking, "gee, if only the iBooks app's icon was prettier".
