yeah it's almost never been an issue for me as far as finding content goes, it's just the seeding systems don't support the notion of users contributing interesting and new content (not BC shit purely from this year ripped en masse and transcoded 3 times that won't be heard by anyone) as much as the philosophy behind the site/staff does

What does start you off with some upload credit though, a paltry amount sure but it helps, and you get your first 5 GB completely free without the need to keep any ratio.

The real problem is what is the first tracker for a lot of people who even after interviewing lose their minds and download everything and end up on RW. Even then a lot of leeway is given to the user to dig their way out. What itself recognizes it may be hard true and there are dozens of tips on how to maintain ratio there. It really is a question of just reading the wiki before you go download crazy. And having a little patience.
Again I've never seen what struggle for new content whether it be bandcamp shit or releases people might actually want.

Fortunately for me I'd at least read up a fair amount on the site beforehand. I barely used it for like my first year upon joining, but when I started uploading [requests] I hit PU pretty damn quick, and elite soon afterwards.
You're right on there being a large enough number of wikis/guides/rules that are clear enough for the users to examine before using the site, but even after understanding them, they don't seem to be left with too many choices; jump on FL picks or BC uploads - that most people have no interest in, beyond gaining buffer - and mass-transcode them (assuming you have a seed box or an adequate enough connection to gain a nice buffer from the initial download, or the request route, which as well as having a pretty limited scope as to what you can upload, would still require a lot of uploads unless you're willing to pay.
In both circumstances, your ultimate buffer depends either on where you live (availability of fibre-optics etc.), or how much money you can pour into the fastest seedbox service, since WCD's economy brings a bigger benefit to the latter, rather than using them for long term retention (which some users still focus on, of course).
Unfortunately, while it's a much quicker option, paying money seems to be the only viable option for most users. You can't subsist on WCD solely from seeding or uploading your small collections like you can on trackers with bonus point-based (or similar) systems.

Well I'm sure you're aware of trackers sharing info on disabled users, cheaters, etc. There are several networks they use for this purpose - IRC channels on networks of trackers ptg may or may not know, torrent celebrity forums on those sites, and sites with entire databases that can be pulled by any staffer with a membership there (though their site needs to be 'established' before they're considered to be let in).
I don't want to share too much, but I'm sure you can imagine most of these inter-site relations are established behind these closed doors (or private messages) rather than what you might see in public (like recruitment threads on a particular tracker). That, and seniority goes a long way there, to often cringing levels of elitism among the more senior sites, and the placating and 'sucking up' from the smaller/newer sites to the others, whether it be for information or ranks.

Really depends on your speeds I guess. As I said, you'll reap better benefits from their systems from picking the fastest seedbox you wish to pay for instead of the ones with the highest storage (like they should be, for retention), so larger swarms will be populated with these extremely fast servers. Personally, roughly 3% of my upload gained there came from methods other than just seeding what I grab, since I couldn't maintain a decent ratio otherwise.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but my old LG TV played all YIFY movies and sometimes it played other 1080p files but a LOT didn't work. Sometimes it would say "unsupported audio" because it would have surround sound (I think AC3 was supported), other times certain files wouldn't work at all.
I bought a new LG TV that's 4k, but I honestly don't know what it will support and it what it won't. I didn't buy the 5.1 surround sound with it and a lot movie files have that.
So I'm looking for all the old YIFY/YTS movies. I know they were shut down but hopefully there are mirrors because they always worked.

Well it was after one of their events, and freeleech was just left on for like 20 days or something stupid. Then they fucked up a bunch of HnR stuff a few days later. Then there was the time a bunch of shit on the forums had to be rolled back.
Honestly, with GGN you never even know. Their site has had showstopper bugs and glitches for years, and never been fixed. Like every other game tracker, the staff are incompetent or there just aren't enough of them. Though at least GGN staff are nice people. BCG staff are mixed bag of shitheads and useless.
