After 5 years of use I decided to upgrade my gpu and psu. Then I noticed that my cpu was overheating fairly fast and made the mistake of cleaning the heatsink and cpu without knowing about thermal paste and its uses, so now I gotta get some thermal paste because the cpu gets at the temperature in the pic while idle.
Is thermal paste something I can buy the cheapest I can find or is it something I should be careful with and buy from good brands? What things I should look out for when buying one?
Also, would you recommend me to replace the stock cpu cooler while I'm at it? Any recommendations on cheap ones?

My laptop suffered from this. For example, when playing War Thunder, I couldn't hold Shift (throttle on WEP)+C (for looking around with the mouse)+D (for left roll). Shift +C+A worked, but D didn't.

Should I get the Asus Xonar DSX soundcard if my onboard's audio mic input is beyond fucked? I produces noise and plugging the mic into front input or jack extenders doesnt work either. Cheap usb soundcard don't change much. The mic itself works flawlessly. I've tested the mic itself on the new laptop with Realtek audio card and it worked without producing noise.

Skylake (i 6xxx) has already been released, and it doesn't work with DDR3. DX12 is coming but it's gonna be Windows 10 exclusive, I think

Specify the hardware video decoding API that should be used if possible. Whether hardware decoding is actually done depends on the video codec. If hardware decoding is not possible, mpv will fall back on software decoding.

How do I make it so that all programs I download and install go automatically into my HDD instead of my SSD. If I am downloading through browsers I am able to change the default folder, however in other cases it doesn't prompt a folder option and just goes into my SSD. Help
How in the actual fuck do you get good at cable management? I've built around 5 computers but I completely suck at it. PSU cables are too goddamn stiff so if you try and bend them a certain way behind the motherboard tray to conserve space they just pop back into place or put strain on the component it's plugged into.

I keep seeing so many threads on people getting unlimited cellular data (4G LTE) for like 30-50 dollars. How the hell are you guys getting it? In my town, ATT, Verizon, and T Mobile are my only choices. I do not see any data plans for that cheap. Is there some secret to jewing down service people? What do you use on your computer the most?
Imo a good mouse that has exactly the # of buttons you need and fits comfortably in your hand is a better investment because the mouse is constantly being used. Dpi matters for shooting games but a "gaming" mouse sacrifices build quality for buttons and sensor qualities, really only necessary for mmos.
