I'm this fucking close to buying one as well. Got to try an SP3 today, and for everyday work life it's fucking great. You can easily take notes while staying highly mobile, and you got a pretty powerful laptop if you need it.
I mean, sure, if you're looking for a desktop replacement there are devices that deliver more performance for the same amount of cash, but as a laptop and tablet hybrid that's useful in a variety of situations I think this is the best thing you can buy right now. If you want to render videos or use an advanced network of VMs you might want to look elsewhere.

PC tablets are most likely going to kill laptops soon and the only computers left for the average user will be an PC Tablet or desktop.

Not that guy, but you've got to remember that Wacoms are devices specifically designed for digital painting. They've got things like tilt-sensors, handy buttons for commonly used actions, processors and hardware that are designed to process many large pen strokes with transparency in a row.
The Surface isn't that. Don't get me wrong, the Surface Pen works wonderfully and taking notes as well as some elaborate scribbling and drawing works really well, but it obviously pales in comparison to Wacom.
Think Audi R8 versus a Ferrari racing car. The R8 is fucking fast and fun to drive (I assume), and highly capable in your normal everyday commute, but the Ferrari is going to win on a racetrack.

It obviously has pressure sensitivity, but as far as I know tilt sensors are patented by Wacom. Or at least it's something that Wacom keeps very close to its chest, I don't know. It's very uncommon.

The average user doesn't need a bulky laptop either. x86 tablets give great portability and batterry life all the while giving you laptop grade performance. If you need more power then you are going to get a desktop. x86 tablets are perfect for browsing the web and watching video especially since you can connect them to HDTVs.
Face it, laptops are going to get BTFO especially as x86 tablets become more powerful and get more storage space. The i5 version of the surface pro 4 has desktop i3 performance. I can't imagine how much more powerful the i7 version of the surface pro is.

Mine came today (i5, 4gb).
Mainly bought it because of the pen and because i wanted something very portable.
Biggest flaw is the battery so far but the charger is very small.
Taking of the cover and flipping it around before attaching it again for the switch between laptop and tablet mode is really weird. That's gonna take some getting used to.

You can underclock the processor if you want a longer batterry life. Stock speeds are set to max out at 3GHz for performance. You can easily lock the processor to 1-2 GHz though.
