These are definitely technology. Post your flask, brehs.
Do any of those sunbitches keep coffee hot for more than eight hours. My thermos doesn't
>>51778390
A guy on youtube says after about 8 hours his Nissan Thermos kept previously boiling water at 186 degrees.
Follows me to every job site. It fits in my toolbelt so it's a bit more practical.
Also its the same size as a Tim Hortons large coffee So just get it refilled all the time.
>>51778381
I'm not doubting the effectiveness of those old bastards, but those look so bulky to be portable.
>>51778445
Since you've used one, do these keep the coffee fresh tasting as well as hot?
No point in drinking it if it's just hot, liquid cardboard.
>>51778541
You're not carrying it around with you everywhere, anon. You fill it up in the morning and put it in the backseat/floorboard of your truck and forget about it until lunchtime.
I got one of these insulated things. It works. Might get a different cap though, and I need to make a handle or something. Already dropped and dented the bottom.

>>51778585
It keeps coffee tasting very fresh, much better than leaving it on a burner or in a percolator.
Years ago a girl in one of my classes pulled out a full-size Stanley and poured herself a cup of coffee in the middle of a lecture
You could smell that shit three rows back. See the steam coming out. I was fully erect.
>>51778390
Do you leave boiled water in it overnight?
>>51778617
Clarification: this will improve the longevity of keeping liquid warm since there will be more heat present in the container before you add your coffee/tea/soup
>>51778613
>You could smell that shit three rows back. See the steam coming out. I was fully erect.
Great. Just might look into getting myself one before the next semester starts.
And on top of answering my question, you've provided the perfect way for me to describe the aroma of coffee.
Thanks a million.
. >>51778445
Keeps warm for about 4 or 5 hours. But not terribly so.
This particular model also leaks from spout when closed a little when turned sideways so that probably hurts it's effectiveness. But I down coffee to fast for it to matter.
I'd buy a better one If I came across one with a metal body aswell. This fucker survived falling down 3 levels of scaffolding.
>>51778390
Go on ebay and buy a stanley thermos from the 80s or early 90s. Those will keep stuff hot for way longer than 8 hours
>>51778688
oh and the reason I say to buy an older one is because Stanley got bought by the Chinese and now their stuff is chinkshit. Make sure you get one made in the USA
Old Thermos brand Thermos I got from a thrift store for 75 cents. Works perfectly well, one of the best things I ever bought. Word of caution: you'll end up drinking a lot more coffee and tea once you have one.
hydroflask master race. I'll have had this one for 2 years this christmas. I take it everywhere with me, though I mostly use it for ice water and rarely put hot water in it
Not my picture, but exact same model. Bought this fucker in 2006 and still have it. Bitch keeps ice water cold for over 24h, though capacity is a little low at only 1L so it never lasts that long anyway.
Anyone else zojirushi? What do you guys use to make your drinks?
Aeropress for coffee, hario teapot for tea here.
>>51778585
He drinks Tim Horton's coffee.
It's essentially the same as boiled water coloured brown.
>>51778381
How many of those contain asbestos?
>>51778381
wh ythe fuck are thtye all rusky m80 claen that rjis ip now
>>51779028
>vacuum flask
>containing asbestos
u w0t
>>51778783
>> hydroflask masterrace
Kek no. I bet you can't even store liquid nitrogen in that guy.
>>51779040
Asbestos is used as an insulator so why not?
>>51779088
Vacuum flasks use a vacuum to insulate.
This is why they are called vacuum flasks.
>>51779084
but why would I want to do that?
>>51779028
None of them. They're either steel or glass.
Til water bottles are technology
>>51779207
thermoses are. It takes clever engineering to create a durable vacuum seal
A friend of mine got a thermos a while back and he told me to his coffee is undrinkable because of it.
What's the point of buying a good thermos if your drinks never cool down to a drinkable temperature?
>>51779418
pour it in a cup and let it cool. not rocket science. your friend is a dumbass
I've got this Zojirushi travel mug that keeps my mid-day protein shake cold from the blender for something like 6 hours straight. It's insane.
>>51779418
I want that guys thermos.
Piping hot coffee is best coffee
>>51779127
If you've ever seen an old dented one, you'll notice that when you shake it there's loose particles inside.
It's probably just glass, right?
>>51779008
Kalita wave, zojirushi. Used to use an aeropress though.
>>51778635
That's interesting, I'll definitely try that. Guess I'll "refresh" it with new boiling water for about ten minutes before I put the coffee in, too.
>>51779441
use the same
Best thing about it the flip lid that is ready to drink from without any cumbersome
That's also the worst thing about it because it's a pain in the ass to wash properly
>>51780233
the manuals for all these things recommend that approach
>>51780617
The one I've got is a hand me down that's older than me, so it didn't have a manual
I drink mostly iced tea and cold water,, and there is a fridge in my office, so there is no real need for one. I do, however own a badass mug.
If you don't have a work-worn Stanley, do you really have anything?
>>51780742
I have a bashed up 70's Thermos, does that count?
>>51778410
>186
what
He managed to pressurize his Thermos?
>>51782782
fahrenheit
I have a contigo snapseal for coffee.
I would have gotten a similar thermos but they were nearly double the price for the same size container.
I just wish the lid wasn't made of plastic, you can feel all the heat escaping from the lid.
>>51780742
shit i need one of those.
always end up making 4 cups of coffee since i just love drinking it.
been cutting back since i couldn't afford the beans, but will get back in it slowly.
Finally I can ask this question.
Anyone know where I can get an aerogel thermos? Fuck metal or plastic, this is the 21st century.
