Here's your decryption steps:
1. On the website it says that "Red" is the key, and there's a riddle hidden, and provides the image like you're used to
2. It also says DE:AD:BE:EF, this means Hex
3. Pull the text out of the R value in the image, and some Base64 data
4. Solve the riddle with a bit of googling and possibly other hints here in the thread.
5. Use the solved riddle and HEX to get a key
6. Use the key on the Base64 data as AES256
7. Magics.

I was the one who made the challenge.
I wrote the text into the R channel along the top of the image, reading the R channel byte for byte results in ASCII text.
It was a riddle, and Base64 encoded AES256. The riddle resulted in "hunter2" and that turned into hex decrypted Base64.
