The $7-$10 range for manga isn't so bad. It can be even cheaper if you order it from Japan, but I guess you're after translated stuff. I'm more into collecting than buying it to read anyway, since I've usually read something online already by the time I decide to buy it.
I feel more price gouged by normal books in a brick and mortar store, especially comparing with Amazon or something. Manga is almost always the same price online or off.
