Why are high end Nvidia cards better than high end ATI cards?

Why are high end Nvidia cards better than high end ATI cards?
>>
Because games are made to take more advantage of high pixel fill rate and high clocks(Nvidia) than high bandwidth and high shader/texel rate(AMD)

Of course that depends on the game, but more games lean to the former.
>>
Yes they're so much better that they don't even need that .5gb
>>
>>51656014
Then why does every motherfucker on this board shit on Nvidia and recommend AMD shit?

Is there any proof to your claim?

mid range AMD is better than nvidia, High AMD goes head to head on 1440p/4k, often beating highend nvidia.

they actually aren't.
fury x at 4k is almost as fast as a Titanx, and faster than a stock 980 ti.
in crossfire the fury x outperforms overclocked 980 ti sli in most games.

you just aren't looking at drivers, you're looking at when the cards were freshly released, new drivers have given all AMD cards very nice performance increases.

>cherry-picking one game
>cherry-picking one card

If you grabbed 20 nVidia cards and 20 AMD cards, nVidia would come out on top 19/20 times.
>>
>>51656676
>Then why does every motherfucker on this board shit on Nvidia and recommend AMD shit?
Because we're not buying for ourselves. Putting together a $10 cheaper build using an AMD card looks better on a board. But if you look at our own rigs, 90% of us are running Nvidia because the lack of headaches is kinda worth it.

he was talking specifically about high end cards, which would include R9 390 and above

Then what exactly do you want to compare? A fucking 7870 against a 980Ti?
>>
>>51656760
980ti smokes it overclocked though, and fury x isn't a good overclocker.
>>
>>51656805
Yeah, but it's kinda hard to tell someone they should spend more than their budget. It's easier to just make a build with an AMD card than make the case for Nvidia.
>>
>>51656832
980ti is the best GPU for gaming hands down, I'm pretty biased towards AMD and I would be a fool not to admit that. Even then, the 390/Fury are a better choice against 970/980 right now
>>
we recommend amd shit for bitcoins farming, and budget builds.

amd is great at cryptology, but they don't get optimization from most games thanks to nvidia's actually sending teams of programmers to devs offices to optimize their code for nvidia.

nvidia also doesn't have nearly as many driver issues.

my 7950's drivers would crash continuously and it was really annoying.
>>
>>51656858
More often than not the "budget" people post is just an arbitrary sum they pulled out of their ass because that's what they, with their limited knowledge, think a computer is "worth". You'd be doing them a disservice allowing them to gimp their system rather than set them straight. For the price of a couple coffees they could get a superior product that will last them longer and save them both time and money in the long run.

Maybe you're a retard? Never had problems with my cards drivers (7870 and currently 390x), just remember to clean install every new driver with DDU

i upgraded to a gtx 670 for $120 local pickup used, from a hd 5870.
after a couple of weeks I wasn't satisfied with the performance difference between the GPUs so I sold it on eBay for $180 with $20 shipping. made myself a nice $60 profit.

nvidia control panel was annoying, my settings would just revert when I tried to change them for resolution and refresh rate, and geforce experience was a piece of shit. raptr isn't better though.

my previous gpu was a gtx 260.

i try to stay unbiased when buying the gpu and usually go for whatever offers better perfornance within my budget, but I do tend to lean towards AMD a little bit more personally.
I do find it disappointing with how many AMD "shills" use nvidia cards themselves since it seems a little hypocrytical, but fuck them, buy whatever is the best gpu within your budget.

>>51656832
that's true, but have you seen fury x in crossfire? it's definitely the more viable option if you want multi gpu 4k gaming. or fury crossfire if you want to save a little money.

>>
>>51656993
especially since they now fry their GPUs, kek
>>
>>51656887
Yeah, but I don't care that much.
If I put together a massively better build than their best effort, they're still getting a massively better system. I'm not doing them a disservice, I've done them a great service. They don't deserve some level of ultimate perfection that would demand actual work out of me, though.

NVidia has better engineers.
>>
>>51657158
they have a bigger budget, I think AMD has the better engineers.
with their smaller budget they've had amazing products like the hd 7970, the r9 290x, and now the fury x.
the fury x might not be able to overclock as high as a 980 ti, but at stock it's winning, and then there's the 170w nano.

What do you use these cards for? games? get a life, man.

I need to get a life because I enjoy video games as a past time?
>>
>>51657236
Having more money isn't necessarily a motivator to do better work when it comes to engineering.

Nvidia may just have better project managers and company structure.
