They're the same base movement.

The Bauhaus design might be better for you as it's a bit smaller (38mm vs the Flieger's 40mm).

But there's fuckall in terms of size difference between them.

Buy the Flieger if you want a Flieger.

The SKX might already be discontinued, and the Monster was recently upgraded from 7S to 4R without a big change in price, and Seiko seems to have given up on reserving the Prospex name for their high end divers and they're slapping that logo on everything now. Given all of that I think this new watch is an SKX replacement. It'll end up dropping in price a bit once it's been out for a while too.

Obviously. Anyone using a non-quartz watch itt is doing just that. Hell, anyone using an analog display is doing just that since it's objectively harder to read an analog display compared to a digital one.

Opinions?

This attachment turns your watch into a smart watch by way of vibration and/light notification.

Personally I'm pretty interested.

I own a pebble and the only info I care about is call or text notifications. This would be perfect.

>>51604890
Cool, good luck man.
>>
>>51605042
Thanks, only thing in nervous about is accidentally getting a quartz regulated one. If the seller is lying and I never realize it.
I think to fool me you'd have to have a real case and switch out the movement and that seems a little much for tricking someone. But who knows.
>>
>>51605099
If you're bidding on spaceviews it'd be quite obvious what movement is in the case. Even with a dial I really doubt someone would stick a quartz movement in an old accutron case.
>>
>>51605121
That's what I'm thinking. But I haven't been able to find a picture, or even a good description of the 'AccuQuartz' movement. It still uses the tuning fork, but it's regulated by a quartz oscillator. So, I'd imagine it looks similar. To a degree at least.

I think I'm just being paranoid.

Pretty much identical modules, time sync aside, but that's a battery eater. Protreks have a bigger and clearer display though, making those features actually usable, because the compass feature of GShocks is fucking laughable. Also more practical buttons, one for each feature, while GShocks have a more complicated menu system that's rendered shitty by the small as fuck display.

Other than being activity/sleep tracker which is supposed to make you live more active and healthy (yeah right) it's possible to set it up for notifications, alarms, hourly chimes and some other shit which is kinda cool for noisy environments.

Working in a hospital, this watch makes a lot of sense for me, because of option for 24 hour time and date when writing anything.

Swatch introduces NFC into quartz watches. How big does the NFC tag have to be? Can it be possible to put a passive transponder on say a bridge of a mechanical movement? Or maybe the active device being a separate "comlication", getting its power from the winding rotor?

TISHILL HERE

Just got home to find my Tisell Sub waiting for me.

Pictures tomorrow (potato camera hates low light and my good camera is out of charge).

But to summarize:

The Good:
>Wears way smaller than other Sub homages - pretty close to the real deal.
>Ceramic bezel is nicely done - All the numbers are uniformly engraved, bezel is a uniform colour, lume pip is well placed.
Ceramic is a personal preference, but I do see it as being a higher accomplishment than just plain aluminium bezels.
>Dial has nice sunburst effect.
>Dial printing is easily on par with the OM, can't see any flaws.
>Cyclops is at least 2* magnification
>Solid end links.
This surprised me, as I had heard the end links were hollow, but they may have updated it when they made the model international.
>Screw bars on the bracelet.
Screw bars are a personal preference; I know some people prefer spring bars in the links to keep the bracelet "clean", but I prefer screw bars for ease of adjustment.
>All links pressure fit together, so the bracelet does feel very snug.
>Nicely designed milled clasp.
I have to say I'm very impressed with a milled clasp for this price, it's similar visually to the Rolex clasp, but the design is a bit different.
>Mioyta 9015
We all know it: It hacks, it handwinds without tearing itself to shreds, it's a genuine movement and it's borderline high beat.

The Bad
>Clasp is not a glidelock AFAIK - doesn't seem long enough.
>Stock bracelet may not fit people with very large/fat Canadian-esque wrists.
I have a 7.5" wrist and I could only remove two links (each about 10mm long) - so not much room for huge wrists.
>For such a small diver (compared to watches nowadays at least) it's quite tall; it's about 13mm tall.
>The clasp lock, when open, can scuff the brushed finish on the bracelet.
>Sapphire is AR coated, but not domed.

Overall, I think it's the nicest sub homage in the $200 bracket.
>>
>>51613621

Yeah sorry, I meant hollow when I said solid and I meant folded when I said hollow.
Forgive me Oniichan.

>>51613781
The 6R15 is a really good movement, not as high beat, but it has the Magic Lever and a longer power reserve.

Besides, if someone wants a Bauhaus design, they'll buy a Bauhaus design; if they want a more conventional dress watch, they'll buy the more conventional dress watch.

Despite being a Tishill, I'd probably take a SARB/SARG over a Tisell Bauhaus, simply because I like the design more - it doesn't mean the Bauhaus isn't nice, it's just I prefer a different watch.

That's likely saying a Danish isn't a nice pastry because it's not a custard horn - it's completely irrelevant.

Before the advent of the omnipresence of the Swatch group and cheap quartz, Swiss Made actually meant something. Nowadays it's more marketing than material and it's pretty sad.
There's a company that ships Seagull movement to Switzerland, rebuilds them and then legally relabels them as Swiss movements.
Nothing about the movement is Swiss made at all, but by your logic, a rebuilt Chinese movement is worth more than the pinnacle of watch technology, simply because some minimum wage factory worker stamps "Swiss Made" on the case.

Definitely, Rolex has made staggering technological innovations and design achievements over its history, but now they're not even trying any more.

The current technology in Rolex watches is on par with the rest of their Swiss brethren, but it's years behind GS.
The Spring Drive is the greatest innovation in watchmaking since the automatic movement. I'll stand by that statement.

While I'm slaying pussy and you're jacking off over your shit mechanical watches, I think I know who's winning.

Plus you never see these guidos bad mouthing your watches, must be because they're not so insecure
>>
>>51615201
I agree - but if you're looking for PURELY mechanical movements I'd say that the 3255 and the Seiko GS Hi-Beat are equally interesting.

I'd love to own a GS SD but it's a shame that the snowflake is 40mm instead of a more conservative 38mm (thought that Jap wrists would be more suited to ~38mm). I've also read that SD movements need to be serviced in Japan with a long turnaround time as well.

Jesus Christ, how small is your wrist?

I'd agree with that, but the reason to buy GS is to get the best of the best new technology. You're on the edge of what watches can be.

>I'd love to own a GS SD but it's a shame that the snowflake is 40mm instead of a more conservative 38mm (thought that Jap wrists would be more suited to ~38mm).
I have somewhat large wrists, so for me 40mm is probably the perfect size for a dress watch, but in reality L2L matters more than case width.

>I've also read that SD movements need to be serviced in Japan with a long turnaround time as well.
I can see where you're coming from, but it's not really an issue for me personally, I live in a backwater shit hole and it costs less to send watches back to the manufacturer to be serviced than to get anyone authorized locally.

>>51615260
Ahh, true.

Be careful about going too small though - going too small will make her wrists look huge and masculine - a feminine design will always wear big compared to a masculine design of the same size.

That's literally what I'm asking for, though more specific.
Preferably a (sub 50€ quartz) reference.

Modern Tissot is pure swatch cancer.
It's only purpose is to rob dumb people of their money.
And they look like shit, especially that faggotry with their T on the seconds hand.

What do you think about this seconds hand (/ complication / tritium tubes on a dress watch)?

I would buy this:

is it bigger than mine ?

>>51615495
I love the golden case and it's form. The temp complication can go, but it does not look like as, so maybe it's just me who doesn't like it.

The seconds hand thing looks nice and fits the whole style. Tritium on a dress watch, i like it because it looks not out of place. i have no problem if elements get mixed into watch genres where they don't belong, bacause i'm not a stuck up little conservative bitch like some watch autists.

Also love the domed crystal and the sword hands.

Stop believing this swiss meme pls. Japs have better quality in quartz movements, the only reason it is so cheap is the swiss marketing machinery. Which you pay for.
>sapphire
I have a 40€ quartz watch for 2 years now, it has no sapphire and is doing pretty fine. No scratches, and i wore that watch a lot, also to parties where the chance of drunken damage is high.

Pic related
>sapphire
>5 atm, tissot has only 3

i don't like the design and the band is dogshit, but just as an example. So that you believe me that tissot is overpriced dogshit.

GS and Credor aren't made in chink sweatshops, they're made in clean high tech workshops staffed with highly skilled craftsmen, and your dirt cheap Tissot is not made 100% by hand with loving doting attention to detail by a magical Swiss elf. A good watch is a good watch and shit watch is a shit watch, geography has nothing to do with it.
