Which one /g/ ?

Both

Pi Zero has no wifi, and you probably don't have any Mini-HDMI cables already because nothing else uses that port. So that makes up the cost difference.

Mojo V3

>ARM
Both are shit to be quite honest with you family
>>
>>51541899
chip's the better deal because unless you absolutely don't need any ethernet connectivity you'll have to get a USB2ethernet or USB2wifi adapter if you buy a zero and those are way more than 4 bucks. Fuck that.

CHIP comes with wifi? Awesome.
>>
>>51542047
the last mini hdmi device I can remember is the Nokia N8 from 2010.

>>51542180
it has wifi and bluetooth on board, actually

are either of these powerful enough to run Kodi and playback 720p or 1080p video?
>>
>>51542876
I don't know what Kodi is, but 720/1080p video should be fine. The Pi 0 is advertised to output at 1080p, so I'd only assume. I know the originals do.
>>
>>51542876
Pi zero may be, not sure about the CHIP, they should both be able to do it fine though
>>
>>51542915
Get Kodi
>>
>>51542948
It looks cool, but I don't watch television or shows enough to get this. If it's anime, it's not hard to double click a file and play it.

>streaming anime
>>
I spent hours travelling from shop to shop to get the pi zero today, but I failed.
I am pre ordering the chip.
anyone from London that can give me hints on where to buy the pi zero from? it's out of stock everywhere
>>
can someone explain to me what this is and what is it used for?
>>
>>51542876
The Pi has hardware accelleration for video playback, so it can do 1080p without problems as long as it's normal h264 video. Dunno about the CHIP.

Damn. That's cool. I want one of these.

>Cheap HTPC
>Low-power server
>great back-up PC if my primary one ever goes down.

I'll buy three.

The one that is functional without having to buy extra things

Hope the Zero will get a handheld thing too like the CHIP.
Tiny umpc with exposed gpio is cyberpunk as fuck.

literally any camera with video out uses mini HDMI

The main differences between the Pi Zero and the CHIP are :
>Video output HDMI vs direct RGB
>Sound on HDMI vs direct Line out and mic in
>USB only vs USB + Wifi + Bluetooth
>No storage (external SDCARD) vs 8GB eMMC
>ARM 11 vs Cortex A8 (here the cortex A8 is a clear advantage)
>>
>>51543577
I'm definitely buying the chip.
reckon they would ship from the uk so I don't have to pay 50£ tax and delivery?
>>
>>51542230
Any way I can make this into a dongle for my desktop?
>>
>>51543627
You have to pay import taxes for something that just costs 9$?
Your country sucks.

Hmm, is there a hassle-free way to get networking over USB OTG on this thing? I'm thinking maybe the Android USB gadget driver.

Many consumer routers have USB, even support for USB network adapters (i.e. modems). So it might be possible to hook it up to random shitboxes without OpenWRT support with some configuration trickery.

On the other hand, since the CPU is basically worse than an iPhone 3GS's, the throughput without a dedicated ASIC might be unacceptable. But if you have to buy a USB-ethernet adapter, you might as well just buy a better board.

Anyone here got experience with USB networking on low end Linux machines?

Keep in mind they run off an SD card, they're not super fast, but they're still capable.
