Friend is selling me i5 4460 for around 50 bucks, should I pull the trigger?
I have an extra LGA 1150 mobo.

Stock cooler is fine. It's not a high heat CPU and you can't overclock it so as long as you don't put it in a sealed container, the stock cooler will keep it sub 80 even under 24/7 load which is perfectly fine.

Mine is on stock cooler and while I haven't benchmarked it heavily or heavily gamed(no GPU yet >.>), it has NEVER gone above 50c, though my room is only at 22C, and it stays on all day every day. When playing War Thunder or Fallout 3 it goes to around 40-50C. Stock cooler is what I use, no issues, though I guess if you want the 212 EVO or the Corsair h80i would be alright, and while slight overkill, would be usable on most anything else you upgraded to other than a new socket type.

For Fallout 3 and WarThunder on low, and Minecraft on the highest settings, I get roughly 60fps in everything(more with Optifine for MC). HD4600 is a pretty powerful integrated chip for what it is, it does what I ask it to and more, though when I get a GPU I'll definitely be playing more Black Ops 3 and finally Skyrim. I finished it on PS3 3 years ago and haven't touched it since, I want to play it on PC max settings with some mods for a nicer experience. :)

But mine has 5 heatpipes and is thicker.

You can probably hear the CPU fan on the P4 I'm posting from where you're sitting now.
My cheap ASRock H87M Pro4 with Haswell core i5 continues to run great. I use the stock cooler too.
