Not entirely clear on the question. If you mean am I running Awesome inside of Cinnamon, nah. I use some of Cinnamon's tools like the cinnamon-sound-applet, but that's just Awesome on it's own.

I have it configured more for usability than looks. I try to go as vanilla i3 as possible and just put the least amount of information I'd like to know in i3status.conf so that's all I have to copy over. Along with that I use xbindkeys with some preferred keybinds that I can easily copy from setup to setup. I could set it all up in i3's configuration file but I like to hop from window manager to desktop environment ocassionally so it's nice to have a universal set of convenient keybinds.

I'm a huge fan of Cinnamon's looks(Although I've been spoiled by the functionality of Awesome WM, so I don't use cinnamon anymore)
Other DEs I've briefly used were LXDE and XFCE but I found their rice-ability lacking, and ended up just going back to Cinnamon.
If you're willing to experiment and learn, I'd recommend using Awesome or I3(The easier of the two to use) with just them as a window manager.
