It's 38mm and the white dial makes it seem even smaller. I know, it doesn't look that small in the photo. Watches always seem to look bigger, than they actually are, in photos. Maybe it's just me.

I traded my rodania for a f91w cheaper than the glass repair. And the rodania's movement looked like shit. Not worth preserving.

Bit my kids watch has a bit personal value, but not a fucking repair that is more expensive than a new watch because swatch is jewing us.

How is showing off a bunch of complex clockwork "minimalist"?

>>51270822
Nothing because cheap skeleton watches are horrible chinese garbage. Skeletonizing a watch only makes sense if a watchmaker is trying to wave their dicks around by showing off the very best incredibly complex work they can do.

200 is about the sweet spot for fashion brands.

Lots of people, and I mean lots want a 'nice watch.' They don't know anything about watches. They aren't going to look up or learn anything about watches, but they still want to own a 'nice watch.'

Around 200-250 bucks is where many people view the watches as "expensive enough to be nice." Because they cost more.. they must be nicer! That being said over 500 bucks is 'way too much for a watch.' So they get to have this nice little spot where they and many of the people they know all blew abour 200 bucks on 'nice watch.' They can feel they have something better than the people without the nice watch, and they can feel that they are more 'sensible' than people who purchased watches that are more expensive than theirs.
>>
>>51271057
Agree on this. A lot of studies show that people tend to value something when it was expensive.

200 is nothing when you have a job, and it's nothing crazy, but good god, that guess thing was relly the topping on my cake of consumer-ignorance.

speaking of fashion watches. Ordering a DW for 3€ from aliexpress. I swear i will wear it to dates and see if i get a reacton. Usually meet 20 y/o and for these instagram junkies, a dw would prob. be hotter than any rolex.

>How is showing off a bunch of complex clockwork "minimalist"?
Minimalist in the sense that the watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds with no superfluous embellishments or added functions.
>>
>>51271734

Superfluous embellishments is the name of the game if you're buying skeletonized.

>>
>>51272295
What I'm saying is that skeletonization is a method of embellishment.
>>
>>51272349
I can definitely see the argument for that, but in my mind, it's stripping away a decorative facade to reveal the real watch--a watch in the nude, a watch in its purest form.
>>
>>51272530
The dial creates, or can create, a uniform surface on which to easily tell the time. That seems less decorative than a skeletonized movement.

Alright I want the skx-bros to help me with this, I want an oyster for my skx.
BUT I really want to get me a real high quality one, so where should I get my bracelet from, considering there are several people(strapcode for instance) who make and sell them.

Also which style, bracelet fits into the endlink, or bracelet is fixed to outside of the endlink?

What do you mean? You either get curved endlinks made for the watch, or straight ones.

Serious question: Why don't you guys just buy sterile no logo versions instead of shitty homages?

The Italian Renaissance Master, Leonardo da Vinci, beautifully summed up this notion, 500 years ago, when he said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

>The key problem is that, especially in the low-to-mid price segment, many brands and OEM manufacturers have figured out – and have been harnessing – ways to trick the system and legally label watches as Swiss Made, despite the fact that an extremely small fraction of their value has been generated in Switzerland. Sourcing movements and other key components (cases, dials, hands, etc.) from the Far East is a common method: assembly kits of entire movements are manufactured at an incomparably smaller cost in China, Thailand, and other locations (generally at a considerably inferior level of quality) which, along with the other components, are shipped to Switzerland for assembly.

>Manufacturers use a small amount of Swiss-made components, most often balance wheels and springs, along with mainsprings and jewels for these watches; and the cost of these Swiss-made components actually outweigh the cost of all the rest of the Asian-made components – or at least they do in the documents. As a result the 50% threshold for the cost of the movement has been passed, the parts are assembled and cased up in Switzerland and the watch legally receives the Swiss Made designation on the dial.

>(by value)
Wouldn't this mean that for example if the dial, hands and lume are swiss made and cost 30$, while the rest of everything is made in China and costs 25$ is assembled with an ETA movement in Switzerland is enough to have the name protected label?

Don't buy bagelsport now, they were an absolute steal when they only cost $30-35 bucks, but they caught onto the fact that people from /g/ kept buying them over and over again. A few months ago they raised the price to $57.99 which is waaaaay too high. Accuracy is great though, less than 5 seconds fast a day mine was. Personally if I was you I'd go with the soki that my friend posted a little higher up in the thread. Same quality for $15.
As for "bagelsport" as a brand, they excel in the cheap homage watchmaking business. You won't find a better Patek Phillipe homage for less than a hundred bucks.

>walked in because i thought he had a CA cz-58 for $400
>LOL NO that's 500 kiddo
oh.... do you have anything in x39 that's affordable and not an SKS?
>well... i've got the last AK i'm ever going to sell for under $600, its $420 (i think sandy hook just happened)

i couldn't reach for my wallet fast enough

>inb4 wasr
i've had die hard milled AK fans tell me i have a good rifle

was technically "illegal" before i added some parts (read: 922r compliance), only thing american was the trigger assembly, and shes got a well so tight, you have to sand down tapco mags to fit, i stick to yougo mags now, we joke whomever made it woke up drunk, and was in a really fucking good mood.

i kinda think it was the owners, he had a nice smile when we left

anyway, i think i've gone off topic enough for now

No one cares about 922r, there's no way to prove parts weren't made in the US.
>>

You want the one on the right. The one on the left is basically a lug extension and will sit weird on your wrist. Worse if you have a large or flat wrist.

Source: I have a Citizen BM6400 on a bracelet like the one on the left and hate it. I had an SKX007 with a Yobokies oyster bracelet like the right and it was great.

Thank you, it's a good job, and pays well for Walmart. And, yes, my parents wizened up with age, but I, being a first child, went through some dumb shit, on their part and mine.

dealers don't particularly care, importers do, plus according to the law IIRC, its the other way around, no stamping automatically makes it foreign.

Not that i care, with my muzzlebrake, and other shit, its compliant now, i'm just saying this particular rifle just feels like someone honestly cared when putting it together.

Go to a gunshow, pick up a CA import or most any wasr, and pull out the bolt carrier, i've never seen one [read: LOCALLY] that didn't have the tapco piston, or american made wood or something just off about it.

My friends dad bought what he said was the best one at the show he went too about a year ago, and the slant brake was welded upside down, and the piston was rock solid, along with it being tapco.

there's a very subtle yet roaring debate on the internet about keeping russian pistons in the guns, or at least letting them wobble.

this, does that plastic bezel spin?

If you can say drop a seiko or whatever bezel on it, and maybe a nato strap, you would have the true meme watch.

A tag that looks fucking a ok

if not sorry about your almost ok looking shit

>mfw looking at Amazon for divers and realizing that they are ALL fucking Submariner replicas
Exception being watches like the SKX007 and some of the Citizens which have their own personalities. Like, Invicta isn't even trying to be original though.

Is it your first time seeing invictas? Of course they aren't.

This.
The text is just silly and out of place, why should i show the functions of the watch to whoever glances at the dial?
I bought it and obviously know it's possibileties.

Just move that shit to the back of the case. Manufacturers could put the logo with a qr code that proves if it's a real roley, for example. >>51281004
It just looks wierd because we are not used to it. Some would like it some not, it's the same with everything new.

Removing the logo would actually force manufacturerers to create unique designs, so like after a glance at the dial, you could say what company it is.
But manufacturers don't want this, they like to rinse and repeat with old designs and earn money. I don't blame them, but i am also not suporting it on expensive watchs.
>chinkshit
usually people who never tried the product argue that way. My buddy got a chink android for 65€... serves him very well for 2 years with nothing to complain about.

Welcome to /wt/. I hope you will stay and gain some knowledge on watches. You can learn many things here. The overhead light, that is shining on the bracelet, might be interfering with your visual perception.

Thinking of buying one as a beater and normie bait.
Are the cases comparable to the real ones? I now the real movement is dogshit anyway so that doesn't matter.
Also, is Ali express going to sell my credit card info to chink hackers?
