It doesn't really work. You'd fry the usb controller first and then wouldn't be able to damage the rest of the computer.
If you're looking fir something in this vein that actually works, look for a usb rubberducky from hak 5.

Doesn't really make a difference unless the NAND is embedded into the motherboard, and chances are you can just desolder the unaffected NAND and take a mix from a donor PCB to make a replica of what was on it. You'd need something to go quite catastrophically wrong to fry every single chip on the motherboard.
