I bought this shit.
I like it.
I don't exactly like the interface.
Do I rockbox?
is there anything other than rockbox?
Do I really NEED to format my SD card for best results (FAT32)? whatever that means.
FiiO X1 General.
No need to rockbox it because it already has all the features you would have needed rockbox for.

i bricked it
>>47739609
From a review I watched, Rockbox puts X1's interface to shame.
>>47741611
Don't believe reviews. You don't listen to the UI. It's all about the audio quality in the end.
>>47739292
Is this 2006?
what is thiis?
I have the X5, and the interface is shit as well. AFAIK, there's no way to rockbox it or install custom OS

Stay mad, ipod classic wins.
>>47742882
>only plays AppleĀ® audio formats
>needs bloated proprietary software to use
ok, sure
>>47742882
I was once like you, but my eyes have been opened.
Join me and leave that ghastly thing behind

And yet, all these people don't know the year is no longer 2006
>>47741828
Luckily a modest few know that no one buys this shit anymore
>>47743087
well for fucks sake anon what are you using then
>>47742920
To be fair you can sync iPods using Foobar, and it will automatically convert your flac archives to a smaller-but-still-high-quality format, which is pretty ideal. Plus dat amplifier, my S4 is honestly unusable with my m50x's if I want a loud volume.
>>47743315
Is the newest nano good?
>>47743087
what point are you trying to make exactly?
>>47743388
bait? or are they actually still making nanos ?
>>47743193
>inb4 smartphone
>>47739292
when you listen to a song does it display full artwork or just a small picture beside the song name like on the ipod classic?
>>47743449
full artwork w text overlay
>>47743388
>>47743406
Yeah they're still making them. Not sure about the newest nano, but my 3rd gen nano has a decent inbuilt DAC. Not quite classic tier, but close. Certainly better than my smartphone. I'd imagine the new nanos would have similar amp technology in them. The only ones I'd worry about are those tiny 6th gen nanos.
>>47743475
my god they are adorable
>>47743445
>tfw I use my lg g3
It isn't that bad really. It's big enough to store my 5k songs and I can play with the amplifier the music player app came with
>>47743907
>It isn't that bad really.
The problem isn't that they aren't bad but that they aren't nearly as good as even the cheapest dedicated hardware. Even an eight year old Sansa Clip puts every smartphone player to shame, from sound quality to battery life. The only thing it fails on is the display.
>>47743948
B-but I need my lastfm scrobbling
>>47744012
You value a service better than audio fidelity. That's like preferring a mono AM talk show over a home entertainment system.
>>47744223
AM isn't that bad tho
>>47744341
you're clearly not an auzfag
