Where do you usually buy replacement nibs for the digitizers of the tablets?

On eBay I only found the digitizers themselves.

I bought a car today, and there was an R51 in the back seat that the owner said didn't work. It has no HDD and no charger. How did I do /gee/?

Oh, and I only paid $200 for the car.

bought a refurb t61 today. first thinkpad ever and it should arrive in the next couple days.

what os should i install? i was thinking a bsd variant.
>>

its a free thinkpad, you did good

what shitbox car did you buy?
>>
>>47055943
94 Camry. It runs and drives good, got a bunch of miles though. Just wanted to stop driving my Mustang every day because gas mileage.
>>
>>47055904
Get an universal charger and a GNU + Linux USB drive and check it out
>>
>>47055971
I've got a charger on the way from Amazon, and tons of liveCD/DVDs laying around. Can't wait to see if all it needs is a HDD. Then I can start getting other things like RAM, and make it a decent little shitpost machine. It has the 1400x1050 screen too, which is p nice.

Dude. I bought a Camry for that exact reason.
I bought a 95 with 180k miles and it ran fine up until I sold it.
2013 GT if you even care.

Also, it will probably cost you more than the price of a functioning one to fix it.

My W500 just BSOD'd when I was trying to download furry porn. should I be worried?

in hindsight I was also running the evolver thing for Windows for maybe an hour. Does that provide cause for alarm?

I do care. I'm a bit more old school though. Mustang is a 94 5.0 with a shit ton of mods.

Far as the thinkpad goes, if it just needs a charger and a HDD shouldn't be a big deal. If it goes further than that I'll just recycle it.

Got anything done to your car?

I didn't get to check. I was trying to quickly take a picture of the screen but then it went away. The computer was able to boot fine but I restarted it after myself to disable switchable graphics to enable only discrete since I couldn't get switchable to work anyway. I'll try to emulate what happened and come back with more data if it happens again, sorry. But I should not be worried?
>>
>>47056066
Nah. I live in a place where you need permits to modify your vehicle. Also, I'm riding my warranty out as long as I can.
I owned a 96 4.6 a few months ago. Fun as shit till I had to sell it.
>>
I have an Edge E430 running Mint (inb4 >edge, didn't buy it myself)
Wifi is very spotty. It works for a minute here and there, and then it cuts out. It only comes back if I press Fn-F9 to disable/re-enable wireless.
Wifi card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. Tried google, tried disabling N, doesn't fix it.

ded?
>>
>>47056135
They really are beyond fun to drive. Sucks to live somewhere like that. I live in a place where the only mod that would get some attention would be a jet engine or something like that. There is one asshole cop that loves to write tickets about loud exhaust, but he's the odd man out. Would like to see yours if you wanna post it, I fucking love muscle cars.
>>
>>47056136
Go back to Windows until Linux drivers catch up. There is no other option. I had the same problem and had to leave Arch for almost a year.

>>
>>47056175
Is there a list of wifi cards that work well with Linux then?
>>
>>47056223
The 96 GT I had was modified. I have no idea what had been done to it (besides taking a hacksaw to the tailpipe, it was cut off just before the cats. That and blaster coils). It was stupid fast and had a racing clutch. It was painted with house paint though.
>>
>>47056227

Cool. Thanks for the help. I don't know how to confirm whether or not the hard drive is dying though. Lenovo power manager takes minutes to show up on my taskbar on boot in W7 but I thought that was just being inferior to an SSD.
>>
>>47056241
Probably, but I don't know of one. I still don't have a perfect functioning card in my main laptop either.

>>47056242
People do love to hack them up, but no matter what they sound badass with the exhaust opened up. Doubt you want to read a full spec list on mine, but it has had everything touched up a bit, and a bunch of money spent. Shit paint too, the clearcoat peeled bad, and someone tried to chamelion the driver door, but did a shit job and it flaked off too.

Yeah, I bought some wheels for it, then thought better of it, and just put some sticky stock looking tires on it. My X220 arrived today. 2.5GHz i5, 4GB RAM, 320GBHDD, in great condition for only $220. I feel like I scored a great deal because I'm already loving the thing and I still plan on putting a Samsung 850 SSD and IPS panel in it.

I can't believe I have /g/ to thank for recommending this.

Two /g/entoomen managed to create a wine build for me and my friends that bypasses gameguard so I think getting used to /g/ being pretty rad should be something everyone should attempt to do, might even reel in a better community every now and then.

Not necessarily, though if you are suspicious there are two things I would ask for
>photo of the Kensington Lock port
>photo/video of the device booting past the BIOS into e.g. a LiveUSB (so you know the BIOS isn't passworded - though this *may* be circumventable I think it's better for your conscience if you don't have to)

I'm not sure about the BIOS (I read something about taking out the BIOS battery for a while but don't quote me on it). Coreboot requires dedicated hardware to install, but if you go to Linux or Free Software conventions there are often stalls where people will install Coreboot for you. I'm planning on going to one in Europe as soon as I work out when the soonest one I can actually attend is.

So anon from last thread with a T420 delivery that has a high chance of fucking up.

Should i either try to hunt for some T410 locally, try add a bit more and get an X220 with IPS flexview panel and a 500gb hdd or get a Mint condition W500 with FHD screen straight from IBM?
