My father has always been pretty overweight, but this being eastern europe, it is common for people of all ages to be flabby af and not be frowned upon. But recently he's gotten out of hand and started constantly pigging out on every piece of food he lays eyes on. It's as if his stomach turned into an unsatiable abyss.
I tried fatshaming him to the point that we've gotten into incredibly nasty arguments, even told him that if he keeps it up he won't even be here to raise his grandchildren because he'll surely eat his way to an early grave. He just doesn't give a shit and keeps on shoveling food down his piehole.

That fucking sucks, familia. My dad was like that right until his triple bypass, and from what I've seen I think there's just a part of them that wants to die. Has something happened that could have made him suddenly pig out like this? Spend some time with him doing whatever he might like to do, I don't fucking know, see what's going on if you don't already know and see if you can do anything to help out.
Either way, he's not going to want to listen to the advice of someone who he doesn't want to talk to or whose opinion he doesn't respect because there's too much tension/anger between the two of you because you're constantly fighting. Besides, he's your dad and even if he's wrong, in his mind he's the adult and you're his child, so he probably doesn't want to listen to someone he thinks should be listening to him. It's not like with friends or siblings where you can call him a fat fuck every day for motivation until he starts losing weight. He won't want to listen, he'll just dig his heels in and keep doing this. Have you tried to encourage him positively first, like talking about gyms or going for walks or hiking or playing sport or some shit, or did you just go right to fatshaming?

My god, what a dumb bitch. Just because your bloodwork is good now doesn't mean it'll look good in the future. My bloodwork is okay, with my LDL being a bit on the high side (due to massive high fat milk intake), yet my HDL is perfect. It makes my HDL-LDL ratio in the most optimal category. My iron levels are high also, but according to my foctor, my health is perfect. My fasting glucose levrls are extremely low (below whats expected even during fasting), yet I'm healthy.
Blood tests are nt the end-all be-all of tests. When will fatties realize this? When I was having my bowel obstructions due to adhesions 10 years ago, my blood work was PERFECT. No borderlines--all #'s in the middle of ranges. Yet, obviously somethi g was wrong. That's what's faulty about using one measure as a measurement of overall health. You don't do one battery if tests to determine health. There's multiple ones. If you go and apply to be a police officer, they don't do the physical fitness test and use just that. They do physical, written, and even psychological tests before they decide if you are ready for training at the academy. Passing all shows you that you are ready for what is up and coming.

Dozens of obese guys posting their stats and pics of like two weeks of eating at a deficit and boasting about the five pounds they thought they lost. Or a few months of utter failure and greasy tears about it.

Just went through a class focused on rescues. In all honesty, the art of dragging a body out of a building is not something most of us get proficient at as it is a skill rarely used except in training. One of the instructors works with an FDNY guy who carries a set of knives with him. Everything from his pocket knife to a razor sharp utility knife. Dude works in an area with lots of fires (poor living conditions) and lots of fat people (poverty). He has on numerous occasions just knocked fatty down onto the carpet and cut around fatty and used the carpet as a "whale tarp" as we call it, to move fatty.
Fucking made me laugh. Then the realization that I will probably in my career become disabled as a result of the people I move as a firefighter/Paramedic and it makes me rage.

How to make Chocolate Cake:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour three 6" X 1 1/2" round cake pans.
Mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat butter, eggs and vanilla.
Gradually add sugar.
Beat on medium to high speed for about 3-4 minutes until well mixed
Alternately combine in flour mixture and milk to batter while beating.
Continue to beat until batter is smooth.
Pour equal amounts of batter into greased and floured round cake pans.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
Check with a toothpick to se if it is done. Bake a few minutes more, if needed.
Remove from oven and allow cakes to cool in pans for a few minutes.
Place cakes on a wire rack, to them allow to completely cool.

some fat people hate themselves, some have misperceptions about their health, and post about those misperceptions in different forums on the internet, which apparently people seek out, screenshot, and routinely post and summarize those screenshots on /fit/, just in case I forgot the HAES movement exists in the last 24 hours. literally anyone who's been on /fit/ for more than a week knows this, and yet we have one 200+ reply thread a day reinforcing these same points, despite the fact that they're not lifting related at all, and there's probably never been a non-troll HAES advocate on this board, ever.
