tfw she at best lives with 3-5 roommates who are still waiting for their big break and can latch off of their trustfunds B^)

And what are you, homeless?
>>
Moved back in with my parents because I live in San Diego and could only pay rent by drug dealing on top of a full time job. I'm working and going to school now, girls are still down to come over to Mom and Dad's to smoke weed and fuck in my room.

Only American Capitalist culture promotes moving out young. For anyone that's ever truly lived alone, it's depressing as fuck. If your family sucks, I feel bad for you. Mine encourage me to bring girls over and support anything I want to do with myself.

If your parents will let you, do it. You need a successful job more than a girlfriend or your own apartment. Once you can afford a place with the job you like, and this is the important part: still make money to work towards a better life, you know you can move out.

20 years old and still living with my parents. It shouldn't be such a stigma in this day and age where people living off campus often struggle to have a normal life when working on their own.
>>
>>37925344
i make 40k a year and rent is 900 a month. I also got a 450 a month truck payment, and a few other bills. I can afford this place but im barely able to put any money away. im 25.

Im just gonna stay here for another year while looking for a better job. I like having my own place. just gotta find the next girl so its not as lonely
>>
>>37925344
To add to this, I plan on staying with my parents until I either turn 26 and have to get my own insurance, or until I'm absolutely positive I can live comfortably on my own. Never plan on living with someone unless it's willing family. A roommate should only ever be a welcomed stipend to your already payable rent, because as soon as you start spending that money elsewhere and they leave, you get the situation you're in now.
>>
>>37925186
Why? Because you won't be able to get a gf?

How are you going to get a gf as a neet who can't afford rent?

How is your rental company going to FORCE you to sign a 1 year contract? Is this an american thing or what?
>>
>>37925406
Im not NEET. I work 40 hours a week. I just enjoy the privacy and freedom of having my own place.

When i moved in, both me and ex were on the lease. to get her off the lease, i have to sign a new contract. It was apparently in the original contract i signed.
>>
>>37925376
I guess it depends on the lifestyle you want to have and what you determine as okay, but that wouldn't be for me. I need to be able to put enough money away to consider myself "okay". Don't worry about how women think of you though. If you're living with your parents because of a financial decision when you are able to buy your own place, and not because you're desperate, a smart woman would think that's an attractive idea.
>>
>>37925376
>450 a month truck payment

for starters, your problem is caring about what women will think.
Most are in the same situation as you, if not worse. the only reasons they have for caring if you live alone is 1-they want to move in, 2-they want to be married and settled in already.
>>
>>37925425
Why can't you fuck it off and get a cheaper place then?

this is one of the cheapest in the area. there are some really really shitty ones for 700 a month but they are in the bad part of town and the walls are like cardboard. Almost moved in with best friend but his fiance was only cool with me staying for 3 months which isnt worth it.

Where else would I live but my home?
>>
Bought a house at 27.
Been spending a year paying for all the stuff you need to put in it.
Moving in next week.

Pretty hard paying for a mortgage and bills on one paycheck but I'll take it.
>>
>>37925425

If you're just paying month to month, then leave. If you currently have a contract that lets you stay or leave on a month to month basis, just move your shit out before the forced resigning date
>>
>>37925518

Do you absolutely have to be in that area aware from your parents? Do you have a professional job there, or something you could easily quit and relocate?

No but it is a pretty good scam. Someone would willingly go into massive debt just to entertain the idea of some sort of societal norm. I mean, come on, there's a reason asian's and indians are the richest demographic in the USA.

>>37926043
It's better than renting. Rent is burning money.
Just be prepared to have surprise expenses or things cost more than you would think.
Always keep a rainy day fund as a back up and keep feeding into it when you can.

It's pushed in the media and most places in america because

1.A large connected family that has pooled their resources together is dangerous

2.An impressionable ignorant young adult would quickly become a debt slave to live up to a false standard of what it means to be an adult as described by people who want money/slavery from them.

3.Those houses and banks and junkfood and overly pricey cars aren't going to pay for themselves. They need young dumb people who think buying that crap is a good idea.

22 here and in my case my parents are assholes about it.
>"This is our fucking house... HOUSE! It doesn't say brothel on the door does it?"
But w.e. They let me build a home gym in the garage and they don't make me pay rent so I don't complain. Women here in CT are shit anyway. I'm so focused on school, work and lifting right now, I could care less about cum dumpsters and gains goblins.

I don't think its a big deal anymore.. As long as you have a good relationship with your parents and they aren't dicks to any girl you bring over. When I was 24 I started dating a grill and she loved my parents right away. I spent a year 1/2 dating her while living with my parents before getting cucked
