Anecdotal evidence;
When I was a small child, I would chew on whatevertheuck I could. Plastic lids, straws, occasionally chewing gum etc. Over the years, I've had jaw gains like crazy, and now have a jawline that goes right up to my ear, and where you can see the lower side of my jawbone poking out slightly when I tip my head back. I'd go for it.
Plus, jaw gains now allow me to chew through tin, which is cool I guess.
