Bro-science aside, is there really any point in doing anything other than Flat Bench Vs Incline Bench in terms of muscular development?

Right now I do both, but really want to focus on flat benching 3 times a week to bring my bench up...this means I'll have to stop doing incline bench for now. Will this have a negative impact on my upper chest even if I am getting stronger and stronger at flat bench?

anterior delts get worked more

if you want to flat bench for the sake of improving your flat bench. specific adaptation to imposed demand if gonna make your flat bench better.

if you're trying to build up ant delt because it is what is lacking aesthetics wise then you should keep incline.

Well I do Push-Presses and lateral raises for delts......hence why I really need to drop 1 major pressing movement in order to allow for more progress on specifically flat benching.

Now I dont want to drop Push-Press....it'll have to be Incline bench...

I recently switched from Flat bench to Incline bench just to bring my OHP up, aside from that Flat bench can hit upper pecs just as well with proper activation.

bench works part x of chest
incline bench works part x != y of chest

I never do flat bench anymore except for fun.

Incline bench hits all the same muscles equally and also gets my delts, recruiter muscles and arms(tris) much better at the same time.

I stopped doing flat bench and do exclusively incline and close grip incline instead and my weights went up dramatically and my front delts exploded.

i don't see the point in flat bench anymore, might give decline bench a whirl to see if that's hot

Not if your routine involves bench, OHP, and dips (which it should)

Flat bench still hits upper chest.

In fact, i only do floor press, no flat or incline, and my upper chest development is pretty awesome.

I wouldnt worry about it, op
Bring that flat bench up, then incorporate incline again later, if you feel you need it.

Dips is lower chest, you dip.

>lower chest
summer is here boys

Exactly, you dip
Assuming they even exist:
>OHP hits upper chest
>Bench hits everything
>dips hit lower
