You don't get it. Gaining any kind of muscle is a lot harder when cutting. In fact, you should consider yourself lucky if you don't lose any strength om a cut.

The calorie difference for me isn't huge on a cut. I lose about 0.8pld of fat a week. I don't cut as hard as the average /fit/iczen. Haven't lost any muscle doing it my way.
