Personally I did moderate both rep and sets, something like 4x6 at all times.

As for percentages, I really just experimented and felt it out, the whole point for me was to relearn benching. At first I was only hovering around 1pl8, because that was more than challenge enough when I was using muscles I had not been using before.

I suppose I could work up to a heavy single on my non-3/5/1 bench day. My only cause for concern is that I'm gonna be doing an AMRAP with my training max for bench in the same week, at least on the 3 and 1 weeks, and I wouldn't want to do something that would interfere heavily with it.

no i just wrote it up in a post on here, the main takeaways are that:
1. the training effects he tries to illicit (the ones in the excel sheet above all the program) can't be achieved on a week by week basis.
2. the periodisation is random as fuck, you go from like 60 squat NL to 10 in week 2-3. such a drastic dropoff in volume is only meant for maybe deloads or prolonged intensity blocks but c6w doesnt give the idea that this randomness has a purpose.


i think the main reason that people make gains on that program is because they are early intermediates or beginners and never had any real training structure.

it's a lot of volume (especially for people coming from like 3x5) and volume drives progress

honestly dont think optimizing early-mid intermediate programmes matter much as long as form is kept at the golden 80%+
