I'm trying to get into fitness and some friends recommended me Crossfit.
But lately some people have been vocal about it so I'm not sure anymore... What's your opinion on it?

Crossfit is stupid because generally it thinks pushing you to injury is a good thing "If it hurts it's good". While there may be good crossfit gyms out there (eg strength camp) the majority are all newbie pt's "training" white women and their cuckold husbands. Also it's mostly all Olympic lifts anyway so just lift unless you do have a good crossfit gym near you.

Did it for about a year. It's only as good as the trainer. I had a good one, then he left town. The guy that took over was a dipshit. No more crossfit after that.
Besides, if you know proper form and commit a few basic WODs to memory, you can still do it on your own.

Avoid crossfit if you want to make it. You will more than likely get yourself injured. As mentioned before get yourself on a beginner routine. Look for your compound moments. Think squats, deadlifts, bench press, and over head press.

Yes. You can be a crossfit trainer by giving them like 1,200 dollars and during through 5 hours of training. They crank out shitty trainers for a profit.
Also, the programming tends to be stupid. Like doing Olympic lifts for endurance training, or doing kipping pull ups at all.
There are legitimate ways to do cross training. Crossfit isn't one of them.

I'm friends with several physio's and sports therapists.
We go out drinking with that sick crossfit injury money a lot.
