I missed a week of working out due to an inflammation in my rotator cuff recently. And literally after the 7th day all your gains just melt off your body like the nazis faces in raiders of the lost arc. On the bright side though I'm now modelling for hot topic.

That depends on your body desu.
Every time when exams week comes I have to take a week off from the gym and every time I have to deload a bit of all my lifts (not significant though, usually 5-10lbs max), though I'm able to bring it back rather easily within 2+- workouts

>train 1 1/2 years without skipping more than 1 workout every 2 weeks or so
>visit parents for 1 week, no gym nearby
>don't workout for the whole week
>return to the gym
>break PRs left and right

Also I heard you can break plateaus if you massively overtrain for a week and then take a week off. But could be broscience.
