I am new to lifting and will start lifting (ss) on a cut.
What kind of progress can I expect?
Will I still get noobgains or does this only happen once I start eating again?

Do SS, don't listen to this knob. You need to put on some muscle and get your lifts up before you start a hypertrophy routine.
Hypertrophy routines won't do shit if your big lifts (squat, deadlift, bench) are shit.

Currently at 180
Goal is probably 165-170 (5'9 manlet)
Progress will be slow as fuck, but it will happen.
Intermittent fasting seems to help A LOT. Have a big pre and post workout meal and nothing else.
I just hit 135x3 ohp this week, and expect to bump it up to 135x5 tomorrow (started at 95lb)
My bench went from a miserable 115 to 185
Hip thrust went from 205x5 to 235x8
Chin up went from 3 strict negatives to 35lb weighted for 5
Don't squat or diddly much so the progress is shit.
I squat under 2pl8 and my deadlift only went from 235x1 to 255x6
you can expect to progress almost as scheduled for the first 5 weeks or so, then it tapers off to weekly progression

If you're fat, you will make pretty good gains despite the cut. If you're some 130 lbs faggot who, despite the fact that he is weighing as much as a girl, somehow thinks he needs to cut, you will make no gains whatsoever.
