I think that we all agree that 1RM weighted pull-up is the best indicator of strength and fitness, much better than some gay bench press or deadlift

you mean that thing that varies directly with body weight, sure.

@36445588

While l really like weighted skateboard deadlifts as an indicator of pure strength, mostly because they use the legs and core, l also like weighted pullups to help determine my manhood.
>>
>>36445588
what does RM mean?
>>
>>36445588
you can't be serious OP

Everyone knows barbell flies are the best indicator of strength

Same with Bench and Deadlift...150lb guy aint gonna lift as much as someone who's 200lb.

Recently i did 4 reps of chin ups with 1 plate attached at 150lbs body weight. Is it good or bad or what? Never did weighted chins or pullups
>>
>>36447287
I did the same at 185 a couple of days ago. No idea if it's good or not, but I have never seen anyone else in my gym do it and my back is pretty nice, so I guess it's good.

no one at my gym does pullups/chinups and i feel wierd doing that because i dont know if its good or bad and if those guys looking at me are mirin or laughing at me

Bad, chin-ups make you look like a pussy. Even with 100kgs, you're still desperately pulling yourself up to the bar like a begging bitch, instead of spreading your arms like a fucking bear-eagle and powerfully making that bar your bitch with pull-ups.

Just maxed on lat pull machine about an hour ago... 290lbs... I weigh about 180. I don't find doing regular pull-up need to be weighted... it's just an added unnecessary complexity. Do your reps at half speed, or even quarter speed. See how much extra weight you need then. Protip... you don't need any.
>>
i did 10 pullups on the dildos once

Those don't vary _directly_ with weight anon. In a bench press, the 200lb guy's bench isn't intrinsically 50lbs more impressive than the 150lbs guy's. In fact it's less impressive by proportion of weight.

Not even squats have the same issue because different parts of the body move more or less than others, making it nearly impossible to directly compare amount of work that is attributable to body weight.
In a chin-up, if you weight 50lbs more, you're absolutely lifting 50 more pounds.

I do that at 170. You should be proud but keep going. Weighted chin is unique as it has the longest pull ROM. Take that for what you will but i regret not doing them more seriously like barbell lifts after lifting for 10 years.

most i did was with 30 kg (66 lbs) at 210 lbs and i was piss weak, like 90 kg bench.
>>
>>36449574
also i did neutral grip with 30 kg (66 lbs) weighting 210 lbs 5 reps with full range of motion and i am very weak.
