Processed meat = class 1 carcinogen

http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/2015/11/03/report-says-eating-processed-meat-is-carcinogenic-understanding-the-findings/

> Meat processing such as curing (e.g. by adding nitrates or nitrites) or smoking can lead to the formation of potentially cancer-causing (carcinogenic) chemicals such as N-nitroso-compounds (NOC) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
>Meat also contains heme iron, which can facilitate production of carcinogenic NOCs.
>Cooking – especially high-temperature cooking including cooking meats over a flame (e.g., pan-frying, grilling, barbecuing) – can also produce carcinogenic chemicals, including heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAA) and PAHs.

These are all things known to cause cancer through direct testing in animals and cell dishes. Processed meats are the worst, but even fresh red meat is listed as class 2a carcinogen because it shares some of the carcinogenic properties but isn't as clear from observational studies as processed meat, which is consistent enough to have it labeled a definite carcinogen.

-----------

The reason things like the WHO study on processed meats that made huge waves in late 2015 don't have a big impact on this shithole board is you're a bunch of unhealthy retards who don't care about anything other than

>12. How many cancer cases every year can be attributed to consumption of processed meat and red meat?

According to the most recent estimates by the Global Burden of Disease Project, an independent academic research organization, about 34 000 cancer deaths per year worldwide are attributable to diets high in processed meat.

Eating red meat has not yet been established as a cause of cancer. However, if the reported associations were proven to be causal, the Global Burden of Disease Project has estimated that diets high in red meat could be responsible for 50 000 cancer deaths per year worldwide.

These numbers contrast with about 1 million cancer deaths per year globally due to tobacco smoking, 600 000 per year due to alcohol consumption, and more than 200 000 per year due to air pollution.

As someone studying sports nutrition and may work in the field eventually, this is wrong. Gatorade is quite an effective rehydration drink and it has more than just electrolytes anon, carbs too.

>So does water, which comes without all the pointless sugar
You do know that dehydration occurs when you lose water, salt (K and Na) and your cells are operating inefficiently because you don't have enough free glucose, right?
>>
>>36431676
Yes. Now go compare the nutrient profile of a complex carb and a fruit with Gatorade and feel free to tell me I was right about it being pointless sugar. I'll wait.
>>
>>36431664
I don't wanna get into the physiological process of dehydration with you but basically u r a dumb. Fruit often isn't practical in the middle of a sports match and is digested in a less practical manner. Gatorade basically isn't worth it unless you're a high level endurance athlete though. Carbs supposed to help replenish muscle glycogen etc etc. Shh don't drink it if you don't want it

He's not in the middle of a sports match and doesn't need rapid digesting sugar, you couple of retards.

All you've done is change the goalposts from rehydration to rapid rehydration.

And even then, you're dumb because you could use a juicer with fruits to eliminate the digestive enzymes and fiber and still get your rapid rehydration without all the pointless sugar contained in a Gatorade, you massive faggots.
>>
>>36431756

the degree to which you'd have to consume processed meats to make a significant increase in your chance for cancer would be double portions, every single day, for an entire year.

This is the report that classified bacon as a class 1 carcinogen. You'd have to eat 2 slices every day for a year to increase your chance for cancer in your stomach, intestines, etc. by about 5-6%.
But unless you're on permabulk or full on fatass mode, I don't know anyone who eats the stuff categorized here that frequently.

This. Might be a bit heavy before the workout though, if I have too much in my stomach it's a bitch to work out.

It's pretty simple shit, you want complex carbs for sustained energy, like whole grains/brown rice. Then of course protein, maybe like some shredded chicken or hard boiled/poached eggs, shit that will digest quickly. Then afterwards i do a quick shot of protein and sugar, like an egg and a banana. Afterwards is where the sweet potato fries would work best.. I'm not an expert, but I am one of those faggots who prefers eating actual food rather than sketchy workout drinks.
