Fact of the matter is: big strong thighs will make even big strong calves look small in comparison.

Be proud that your thighs are big b/c of muscle and not b/c of fat like a lot of people.

Do what the ruck sack guy said though if you want bigger calves. They'll still look like sticks compared to your thighs though so you'll end up with the same problem.

I doubt dancing will do much of anything for your calves...probably see better size gains by walking on your toes all the time.

Your calves were made for bipedal locomotion. Add extra stimulus (i.e. weight) then do what they are meant to do...as in not 5 sets of haphazard calf raises once per week.

To get wider calves you should be doing bent knee calf raises. Bending the leg reduces the gastrocnemius activity in the exercise and lets you target the soleus.

first its the calves next i had to work hamstrings i got to the point i was working legs 1-2 hours when i could get the workout to a HIIT level it got me so gassed i think i lost atleast 15 more pounds that i thought i ever could

My calves are pretty decent, but my knees are so damn thin.
Ever since the "Never skip legday" maymay hit facebook I've had people giving me shit about my legs nonstop for the past few years.

Problem is I always wear just above knee level shorts cus straya, and I don't like short shorts.

What sets/reps are you doing for calf raises? Seated or standing/straight legged?

Do straight legged for 5x5 or 3-4x6-8. Pause at the bottom for 2 seconds (important...), push up explosively, squeeze for a sec at the top, take 2-3 seconds to lower the weight. I like to do these on the leg press with my heels off, feet at the very bottom.

Then after follow it up with seated calf raises (legs bent at about 90 deg angle). Do 2-3x10-12. 1 sec pause at the bottom, 1 sec squeeze at the top. 2 sec up, 2 sec down.

Do that 2x a week, focus on progressive overload (especially for the straight legged calf raises), eat food, deload every 6 weeks (drop weights to 80% of what you were doimg 1st week, 90% the next, then go back to full weights after thosr 2 weeks)

My friend is like 350 for reps but my calves are bigger because I have to run everyday and walk everywhere. He's just a college student still so he just sits and studies. Even my grandma doesn't have a car, she rides her bike all day in Korea and her calves are bigger than anyone posting here I guarantee that. The only thing I can say is get some weights for your ankles and do calf raises everyday not just on leg day

Small muscles mean high volume and high training frequency. Train calves in 4-5 sets of 20-25 reps at least twice a week. I also recommend either cycling or uphill walking for cardio, this too will help your calves grow. Not that I have huge calves, but since doing these things I've gained about 1.5 inches on my calves.
