In places like northern Europe a bodybuilder physique can EASILY make you a social reject due to the unfortunate Jante's law.
The only Europeans who tend to lift are the Giant strongmen, all performance based, and because they don't get really lean they can usually pass for just a "big guy" in street clothes and don't get the social abuse that a bodybuilder there gets.
