Asking again:

Anyone else ran/running PNP2?

Im finding it really hard to do all 3 lifts on the same day at this point. Today I was programmed to do:

142KG Squats for 3 sets
103KG Bench for 5 sets
170KG Deads for 2 sets
@85KGbw

And by the time I got to deadlifts I was just mentally and physically fucked, didn't even get up to my working weights because it felt so slow

I'm about 10% less for squat, and any difference for deadlift is honestly marginal. I probably don't "get" anything out of it for bench but I wear it for heavy reps anyway just to remind myself to keep my abs and lats tight.

I can't mentally force myself to hold even a second longer than a minute in couch stretch kek.

Worst is that I can't even get half way up and this kind of have to hold in a push-up position to trigger a pain - this is mental torture.

I do it up against a wall because couch isn't high enough for leg.

Bob Couch – Pump Iron Lyrics
Well working real hard I’m just a middle class man, working for a man that I can’t stand.
Sometimes it takes all I got to get me through the day.
So when I get home about half past five, I need to do something that helps me unwind.
I need to do something that keeps me from going insane.

I need to pump iron.
I need to push out another set.
I need to pump iron.
I got to work off all this sweat.
You see but working out my muscles I’m relaxing my mind and after an hour or two I’ll find, my whole outlook on life is shiny and new.

Well, we'd stretch everytime we trained (4 times a week), before and after. We'd do dynamic stuff and short static stretches (20s max) before, and looong static stretches after (2 mins+). You really have to work hard for it, but once you have it, you keep most of it with minimal effort

it was mostly just a consulting call. he said i had good technique and stuff. My main issue was the benefits of coaching in general, not TSA coaching, and he said he had the same concerns and wasn't really sure if coaching was helpful for everyone/most people but i think i'm gonna give it a try.

I'd say you could probably get it now. 205 is just slightly over 90% of 225, so if you can get 4 I'd say there's a solid chance of hitting 225 as long as you are well rested and don't let your head get in the way of your muscles.

and if you fail, you wasted a day you couldve been training.

nah, I was able to kick properly after a few weeks, it took me 3 years in order to do a split tho, even tho I think you could do it in a few months if you really dedicate yourself. As far as (proper) stretching goes, more=better. For PL purposes I wouldn't go as far as being able to do a split, just work on your mobility until you can hit the right positions in the 3 lifts, then I'd start a more conservative approach

why not do 210, 215, 220 and then have a solid 225? you'll be done within 2 weeks and have 225 clean and easy instead of jumping and probably fucking up

especially if you haven't handled anything higher than 205 before and not done any RMs before

Actually that's a lie. I remember joy. The only time I felt like this was first two times I deadlifted 280kg in comp.

Powerlifting is just a habit to me. I can't ever stop. At least I enjoy the act of training, because the results sure don't give me anything

4chan? Nope. It's been purely powerlifting and meeting actually talented people. My eyes are open. They can never be closed.

It's okay though, I find life satisfaction elsewhere, in the quality of friends. And enjoyment in just excercise.

I never missed a set. I never missed a session. I never half arsed it. I struggled with ergs and pieces in rowing. In powerlifting, I can say I truly haven't.
>>
>>35630993
Jesus christ you're an edgy shit. Different people react differently to identical training, and the one that makes the most gains is the most talented(provided other factors are controlled for). No amount of iron lyfe will change the fact that some people can handle more amount of work without getting injured, or have better builds for a big total.

I wish I could think the way that you do. It would soothe me on sleepless nights.

I ran competitively for 7 years, and I've been coaching runners for 10. Never in a million years would I say that I've got it figured out completely, or that I've maximized my own, or an athlete's potential (within reason).

Most athletes retire mentally far before their body does. Especially around the 8-10 year mark within the same sport.
>>
>>35631460
What do you mean with sensual?

>>35631471
>Most athletes retire mentally far before their body does. Especially around the 8-10 year mark within the same spo
And thus no one of them was talented? You can't really deny that at the top in any given sport, everyone works their hardest and smartest, yet there are still differences between the athletes. Why? Talent.
>>
>>35631382
I like you a lot isley but to say that you havent done many mistakes is just plain wrong

also i dont think wilks programming is any good, and most people here agree with me. I dont doubt that hes a nice guy and a good platform coach, but I think one can make the objective claim that his programming is sub-optimal to say the least

>but he created this and that good lifters
well thats what non-top coaches do, they take credit for the ones they succeed with and never mention the ones that failed

ive seen some people stall for a long time and then start with something new, often one of the so-often called 'canned programs' or 'meme programs', and their total shoot up quite fast.

ive mostly seen you do more or less the same thing over and over

i got my hopes up when you said you were gonna commit to avons sheiko thing, are you still doing that? if you're often straying from the plan then you will not see as good gains as otherwise. so i really hope you're gonna do that and follow through, maybe then you can understand that programming and other factors are not just this tiny coefficient to greatness next to talent. you can work yourself to greatness

im not shitting on you, you are one of my favorite trips. but this cynicism has to go. you put your negative energy into things you cant control[talent] and not into things you can control [mistakes you make in training etc]. its NOT good for progress.

you are still young, this correction can still be made

My deadlift is shit. Today was Texas Method intensity day, and I squatted 5x350, benched 3x265 and pulled 5x355. I've pulled more in the past, but I'm trying to improve my form. I never have any problems keeping my torso tight and spine straight on squats, but keeping my back neutral on deadlifts seems much harder for some reason. I dunno if it's just a mental thing that'll be fixed by better cues, or because of my shitty hamstring mobility causing me to round my back instead of purely hinging at the hips when I bend over too far, or both. I'm considering adding in some light deadlifts earlier in the week to really focus on form, in addition to the mobility work I'm already doing. You guys have any other ideas/suggestions? I really don't want to snap my shit up.

Thanks brehs

If you're worried about all around strength I think it's important to include the back squat.

Either will work honestly. I personally hate doing more than a triple on front squat so I'd do 5x3 or something like that but that's just me. If I had to pick I'd say start with 3x5 then move to 5x5 later.
