Are skullcrushers just a meme? Tendinitis and bursitis seem inevitable long term and there don't appear to be any benefits exclusive to the exercise.

Dips and even the unsung dumbbell kickbacks seem to be greatly superior since there's less stress on the elbows and tendons.

Pic unrelated.
>>
who cares? just do dips and unsung dumbbell kickbacks
>>
Tbh this is the time when the rule more traditional = better... Throughout 6000 years of training humans have perfected certain exercises that were more effective and less dangerous, and dips are an example of these.

That's exactly what I'm doing, obv.

But I want to know if there's something I'm not privy to. Is there some tangible benefit exclusive to this elbow destroyer?

if you just started working out they may be too hard since you have to activate a lot of muscle groups to do them properly.

In any case I love skullcrushers
>>
Personally I feel like they hit my triceps better than anything else. All the other tricep exercises I've tried, I usually end up feeling it somewhere else besides my triceps.

Ymmv, do what works for you.
>>
I think you're doing it wrong. Do them with an Ez bar, also let your elbows flare out just slightly when you pull, don't force them in. Also do the Blaha shoulder rotation as well.

I feel like I'm doing a lot of triceps exercises "wrong" because I'm 6'5 and have super long arms. I notice I feel everything in my tendons a lot more than most, possibly because of the leverage that my super long limbs create.

Letting my elbows flare out slightly does sort of take the pain off of my tendons but then I feel like I'm doing it "wrong," as dumb as that may sound. And then ultimately I just feel like I'd be better off doing some other exercise.

Your feelings don't matter, if it takes pain away it's better. Let them flare a bit, just avoid fucking up your shoulders like these retards benching on the middle of their pecs. Keep it safe breh, don't be afraid.

>elbow destroyer
:(
Hurt my elbow doing dumbbell skull crushers three weeks ago, still not better. Doctor said to just give it time so hopefully it gets better, but I won't be doing skull crushers anymore. My gym is a small apartment gym, I used to do cable exercises for triceps but now I don't have machines.
>>
I think they're a meme personally, it just doesn't seem necessary, I hit my Tris enough with other workouts so I'm gonna gonna lie down there looking like a doofus doing "skull-crushes' Even the name sounds like a meme.

Another excersize which I consider a meme is face-pulls, but I'm not sure. Can anyone vouch for them?
>>
skullcrushers are good, but there are other tricep exercices. Personally I like to go lightweight for like 4x15-25 as the last move on my chest-triceps day

Hey guys, Jason Blaha here. Noticed you mentioned me so let me point out that skullcrushers are a meme, you need to do French presses instead.

Jason is a manlet with manlet arms so he's actually pretty big on skullcrushers. It's a cornerstone of his ICF program.
