Weightlifting belts, anyone have any recs? I'm looking into getting this one. Is it overpriced because of the rogue branding? Anyone know any other good leather ones?

Based on the charge in our shared bank account, I'm pretty sure the wife is giving me an 13mm Elite FTS P2 for Christmas.

And you probably weigh less than 200 pounds and can't squat 3 plates. Only BIG fuckers squatting big weight need a belt that thick.

6'5" 220lbs ATM
Im closing in on 3 plates. Should hit 3 plates as my working set in about 8 weeks.

Anything other than inzer forever lever literally lmaoing at your life m8. Srs best belt in the world. There's a reason so many pro athletes own one
>>
>>35323068
Do you know that they don't make their own belts and are simply rebranding a belt that is almost half its price and charging a fortune for their name to be on it?

just purchased an Inzer lever belt. Hoping it's worth it.
>>

Them charging double is still cheaper then every other belt in this thread though? So what?

Depends on the kind of lifting you're doing. If you're doing general strength training or olympic lifting, I think a leather valeo buckle belt is perfect. If you're doing powerlifting, go through Inzer or Best Belts.

Get a 10mm single-prong Inzer
>>

Brahs, at 170 5'8 should I get a belt? Getting close to 4 plates on the deadlift but not sure if needed.

Not this dude, but I'm 6'5" too and a parallel lmao3pl8 squat mathematically requires way more work than your lmao3pl8 quarter squat at 5'7"
>>
>>35323346
Do it dude

You'll end up using it in the future anyway, if you're going past that weight.

Getting the Rogue Echo 10mm for Christmas, did I do good brahs?

Here's a riddle for you: what are the downsides of a thick belt if it the width fits you at all?
...
There are none. So you might as well go directly to The Final Solution.

Newfag here: what the fuck is a weight belt for anyway?
>>

From the Good Book by Rippetoe:

"A belt protects the spine by
increasing the amount of pressure that can be applied to it by the muscles that support it. The belt
itself reinforces the "cylinder" of the ab muscles around the spine. At the same time, the belt acts as
a proprioceptive cue for a harder abdominal muscle contraction: you can actually squeeze harder
with a belt on than you can without one, just as you can push harder against a loaded barbell than
you can against a broomstick. This effect ultimately produces both stronger abs, due to the stronger
isometric contraction facilitated by the belt, and a stronger squat, due to the heavier loads made
possible by the more stable spine. "

Yes, there is. Only specific brands of equipment are legal in eg. IPF meets. Inzer is one of them. You can't just show up wearing whatever, even if it technically meets the specs. It's how feds like the IPF make money.

this is the best belt i ever got. i have had inser belts with levers, double clasp and powerlifting thick ass belts. i gave my other ones away. this is the best belt in the world and it will last you forever.
>>
i own this belt by schiek. it's not as bulky as it looks but the double prong thing is not the most convenient.

for people who have tried both: would a lover belt be worth the investment? and if so, which one should i get.
