I was thinking of building one of these but I don't have much space. Just enough to have it assembled when using it, but I'll still need the room I can put it into when I'm not using it.

at that point it would probably be cheaper to just use metal anyway. Plus anywhere you put stress on the filled pipe would just crack the concrete.

to be fair, filling it with steel would add a lot of structure. PVC is much better at compression stress than lateral
