I'm probably gonna switch to sumo deadlifts and deload my babby bench because shit is form desu.

Why are everybody's posts getting deleted?

Nothing.

Gym was closed today so I am doing id tomorrow.

Currently I am running a Frankenstein program with TM for bench and ss for squat and deadlift.

I just failed my swuats at 3x5 at 310 lbs so I'll be doing TM for swuats as well on Monday and I'm gonna keep deadlifting twice a week until I stall.

Had a friend come back to town for Thanksgiving, so I got to see him. He's been out of the gym for a while because of rugby, and I'm on a deload week, so we didn't push very hard, but it was a nice session anyway.
We did speed deadlifts, some weird shoulder thing (barbell from top position of OHP down to nose height, then over and behind the head, then back), some curls, and some lats.
Then we saw Spectre and ate gyros.
Good day.
>>
>>35058813

In the spirit of iwf worlds snatch/cnj/pp. Then a quick daily max bench.

Yeah, that's definitely a Bradford press of some sort - a lot of people prefer to use a shortened ROM on it because strict pressing from the front with a BTN grip is often a bad idea.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, but like I said, we started at the top position of an OHP.

I just used my normal OHP grip. It went ok.

That back tweak a while back wasn't getting better, and then my tendinitis flared up after a day of work.

Just taking the week off, going back on Monday, but not training for a week has left me pretty squirrely.

Weird. I don't think I could physically get the bar down behind my neck with my normal OHP grip.

Lower ID. Switched to highbar squats for a while to let my back take a break. 3RM went down 10kg with this change, and considering I never HB, I'm pretty optimistic about this change.

New to lifting. Deadlifted 185 today. It was really fucking hard, felt like my whole body was losing its shit.

I felt pressure in my lower back. Not pain, but a lot of something. Some lower back stiffness after deadlifting. Mostly gone now.

I was checking my form in the mirror while doing it, and I didn't notice any lower back rounding, but what the fuck do I know.

Is what I felt just a deadlift working as intended, or is it a sign that there's a problem with my form?

I want to start competing next year. what do and when?

My stats:
Age 22
Weight 185
Height 5'9"
S/B/D/ 300lbs/195lbs/357lbs all for a 5RM

I'm currently running the texas method and going light on my squats and deads because my lower back is quite sore. I have no belt, wraps or sleeves, nor a singlet. At what point is it worth competing vs. just getting stronger? Is there any point in changing my training before a meet at my level? What about picking lifts?

Depends on who you ask. Some people will tell you to compete right away. You be the judge of that.

I'd say no. Just like trying to meet a certain weight.

Just flip the BBB days.

Example, 5/3/1 for squat, then 5x10 for DL.

This ups your frequency for DL and SQ to 2x per week. Much better arguably.

This is a great utility:

Hey Board, I notice you talking good on sheiko a while back and I gave it a try myself. Made awesome gains on it, still want to ride that sucker out forever until it doesnt work anymore.

Anyway, I find that I cant give myself the 2 hours of time sheiko demands from me to lift (plus 3-45 of warm up + foam rolling + stretching after etc)

On top of that, my sleep is going to be sub par, especially for finals. Would splitting sheiko into a 2-a-day routine still be as good? Im giving it a try and Ill report back regardless, just wanted to hear your input

This works really well if you are calm, comfortable, smart, and honest with yourself.

You have to have some faith in yourself and be much more "aware" of your actual and perceived fatigue.
>>

>>
>>35061105
>biggest risk is probably just injury

I don't think so. Unless you're constantly calling "10's" a "9".

If you're REALLY using RPE and fatigue management via RTS, then you'll autoregulate volume/intensity before you get really snapped up.
>>
>>35061026
faggot this is plg we don't predict how long it takes you to hit puberty fuck off
>>
>>35061121
>then you'll autoregulate volume/intensity before you get really snapped up.

That only manages fatigue, which isn't the same as injury risk... it's naive and incorrect to assume you can't accumulate excessive amounts of local fatigue even if you're handling global stress. Injuries are cumulative too and even slightly biasing overall stress beyond what's rationally programmed will slightly increase injury chance. It doesn't have to be extreme to be worse.

I can't imagine why you "don't think so". Anyway, try it some time. I'm living it.
>>
>>35061121
>>35061159
This is the same kind of thinking that assumes you only get injured on worse sets, when anybody who has been training a long time knows it can and does happen even on warm ups. Injury and local stress is WAY more complicated than "I did a couple hard sets so these next ones will be easier--I'm a-ok." C'mon son.

My training is completely based on daily efforts with no set percentages.

I've done RPE previously in different capacities as well.

You're making the human body out to be VERY fragile, liable to break at a moment's notice.

This could happen just as easily if you input your one-rep max exaggerated by just a percent or two.

See above response.

Every time we roll out of bed we risk injury and or death.

That kind of thing would fit my goals perfectly because I love to squat and I need to learn to love bench and I could do a fuckton of bodybuilding work

does anyone here squat everyday? im really tempted to squat 5 times a week
>>
Okay so I'm at a 175lb max for squats

deads ive always done with a hex bar and are at 2 plate, need to start doing regular

OHP is at 100lb max

Bench is at 155lb max

What routine should I do?
>>
I have made the decision that every other day I shall film a video of myself deadlifting to recieve critiques on my form. And when my form is perfect, I think I'll make a log of my progression. Will also be motivating because maybe someone would want to see a beginner become progressively stronger.

Self regulation or coaching is 1000x better than form videos.
It's very hard to coach good form over a video, let alone you're inviting very dodgy advice from other noobies like yourself.

Go to
Powerliftinggeneral.com and click on the deadlifting tab, there is a few resources to help you.
>>
>>35062995
In addition to my previous statement, you shouldn't even be deadlifting every other day, especially as a novice.

I imagine your biggest error, like all other noobies, is gonna be programming
Pick either Starting strength, Bill stars novice program, or SL 5x5 and stick with it.
Once you've decided do NOT change programs and stick with it for 6 months. If progression has stalled then ask why, but usually it's because
>you modified the program too much and fucked it up
>you aren't sleeping enough
>you aren't eating enough
>your form is shit (this is very common on the bench press)

Go to powerliftinggeneral.com and go to the dope box and download
>bench specialisation manual
>starting strength

Read them before you post here ever again.

Currently on week 2 of Sheiko under 80kg. Saw that people on the Sheiko forums were running multiple prep cycles when off season, or had more than 12 weeks before competing.

Anyway I'm 70kg/155lbs at 5'10 with 105kg bench, 157.5kg squat, 180kg diddly. Was thinking of just running #37 #30 then the first week of #32 to find my maxes then start all over again?
My main goal is obviously to put on mass and I'm not planning on competing at all within the next year. Would there be any disadvantage to doing this over running the full cycle?
I've still got just over 2 years as a junior as well if that matters.

Why is squat so hard?
Srs, I seem to struggle like crazy with squats. These are all estimated of my 5x5 numbers
>>
>>35063104
Learn to squat. This is coming from someone with a squat only 2.5kg weaker than their deadlift.

have a shoulder that's a bit wank due to a misgrooved bench 2 weeks ago, it's not healing with my normal worksets so now i switched to doing 3x20~ @ 40% bench + like 4x10 chest flyes, would you add/change anything about that?
>>
>>35063115
Having a fair difference between your lifts is usually caused by leverages, not technique senpai
>>
>>35064595
I dont know whats wrong with your shoulder so its hard to say

Dependant on what it is what youre doing may even be making it worse
>>
>>35064646
basically feel it a bit strained near the chest when under load, pretty much goes away during those sets of 20 (but reappears if i try to up the weight). Feel it's there with the light flyes as well, was thinking I was "getting some blood flow in".
yeah shit realize it's vague as fuck, will just keep at it and see if there's improvement else drop any work i suppose
>>
>>35064646
I just bought 60 curcumin tablets
A-amm I still natty? Also I found out I can go lowerback pain free after foam rolling and stretching glutes, hip flexors and hammies.

When I'm working out I'm pain free, but when I lie down and do nothing I get stiff and the pain comes back.
What gives?
>>
doing semi sumo ed coan style with my feet way out...Fucking easiest set of DLs i ever did, honestly feels like cheating. Really fast off the floor, only locking out is bit problematic cuz thighs get in the way of the bar on way up so I have to lean back bit more than I'd like.

What anon is misinterpreting is that the bar is too close to your shins so it's causing you to bend, when in reality it's that your shoulders are too far forward. Midfoot, bar, hands, elbows, shoulders should be one line.
