This is basically the aspect of techwear that I even bother with the threads, I live in Scandinavia so it's just mad fucking practical to have techy clothing, also hiking and /out/ shit is fun so it's a bonus I can do that and look good at the same time.
And my focus has been on the Scandi brands anyway, shit like Fjällräven, Houdini, Sasta, Haglöfs, Tierra etc

it is an entirely different philosophical proposition.
with techwear we are engaged in a summoning the future which is sited in the east asian metropolis. here we see techwear at play with cyberpunk futures and the frenzied acceleration of the process.
with geologycore we see a radical shift from the accelerated circuitries of capitalist efficiency and ever more compacted intensification of events. in many ways we are seeing a going-back towards of life towards non-life in the other direction, which i will name deccelerationism.
in geology the slow movement of tectonic plates contrasts with capitalist speed (which pervades all modern life), the ordered chaos of geology's 'events' are spoken of in millions of years, whereas we speak in terms of mere nanoseconds in the chaotic order of automated financial transactions that are at work everywhere in the east asian metropolis.

People who spend a significant amount of time long distance hiking and mountaineering will find that pieces of their gear seep into their wardrobe. Nobody's walking down the street with long johns+shorts and a down jacket but you might start wearing your soft shell when you have to get to work because it's held up to hell and has a good look.

My whole point with "geologycore" or whatever was wear what is functional when you hike. Find a good soft shell with a focus on functionality and you might just end up wearing it when the weather requires.
That being said, the jacket is pretty boring and dadcore.
Everyone where I live already dresses like this.
