It'd be nice if we could discuss some of the philosophical and cultural aspects to this stuff without it devolving into a debate over the definition of "techwear."

Fuuka "streetwear inspo" or something like that - the joke line is that "streetwear is just dadcore with sneakers," which is all kinds of wrong but sometimes has a point.

>>9029316
Not a bad call. Pretty much any insulator that fits under it you could use.

I don't know how warm flight jackets are, or how much space winds up under them on the body, but some current things I think would make good liners:

http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-down-shirt?p=84745-0
http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/men-ultra-light-down-compact-v-neck-cardigan-131561.html#09|/men/outerwear/ultra-light-down/compact/|
http://shop.havenshop.ca/collections/jackets/products/six-month-cardigan-nylon-black
http://marmot.com/products/details/alpha-pro-jacket

The Marmot is a bit of an outlier, but the combination of relative thinness, Polartec Alpha (more durable than most synthetic insulations, specifically designed to deal with varying activity levels without removing), and the hybrid construction that makes it almost like a second baselayer plus a vest seem potentially good for a liner.

You might also want to look at milsurp liners, even if there isn't one specifically for your jacket. (If there is, that's probably the best idea, just so it actually attaches.)
>>
Not sure if techwear exactly, but does anyone know w2c some effay baselayer stuff?

Im looking for slim fitting pants. pockets are nice. Black is nice. Functional materials- no cotton, less polyester. I just bought Icebreaker Field Pants- they're very ideal functionally, but don't come in black or have much fashion value. The best i've found were Outlier Climbers.
Budget- the cheaper the better but I'd be willing to pay 200+ for the right fit

>>9030003

Polyamide Fabrics mimic wools natural function- in those terms it's less gimmick and actually pretty decent- that said, smaller companies struggle with the breathability technology often. That said, I like where the linked ones are going, and the specs are right.

unless if you know some brilliant way to cop for less.
>>
>>9030493

no problem man

to be honest not really feeling the pumps, I like the disks better on the swift techs and the pumps have a bit too much branding

can't really help you with finding either for cheaper though, aside from religiously checking resale sites
>>
>>9030510
that's a good point, the branding is a little too prominent with the pumps. i trawl ebay too much for cool sneakers. i gave up on the rafdidas hunt when i realized my other hobby would put too much of a hole in my bank account. i'm just a dingus.

anyway, how do the disks generally size, should i be wary of ordering my usual US size?

not quite. i think the real focus, especially in those articles, no matter ho wishy washy, is that of the self-consciousness of capitalism's demise. the knowledge that accelerationism it happening, in the sense that people come to understand Marx's dialectic shifts and know that the ultimate collapse of capitalism is inevitable, that self-awareness has a particular set of problems. it can lead to the state or capitalists behaving differently, and in this case, it leads to a very different set of aesthetics based on this convoluted period of post-industrial, post-internet angst.
i add post internet because most marxism honestly loses touch when it increases in tech level, so much marxist thought needs to be rebooted for this era, and a lot of accelerationists actually suck at this.

I'm going on a backpacking trip through southeast asia. What are some good techwear base layers to consider? I'm trying to decide between merrino and synthetics like uniqlo's airism. Airism tees seem better suited to the climate but looks terrible if worn on its own though.

As long as the fabric is thin, breathable, and dries quick. Doesn't really matter. It will be dank, humid, polluted, and it will probably rain a lot. Personally I would just bring or buy on-site, more than a few cheap shirts and switch between them

Oh and wear unbranded and unassuming shit cause you'll be an easy target for pickpockets and the like if you stand out they recognize the logo

You should probably read more, the transition was a lot more complex than that.

Personally I think that capitalism by definition wont collapse for a long time and is still a pretty solid system. I do however expect a pretty abrupt and revolutionary series of changes away from monetary capitalism to a system based on human capital over the next 100 years or so. At that point I feel like transhumanist technology will make our understanding of human interaction so obsolete that the way in which we organize ourselves wont particularly matter.

What're some good fabrics I could use as the outer layer of making a jacket? I've been reverse engineering some acrynym stuff based on what I've seen on the internet (the TRUEST kind of hacker) and I think I've got the jacket sling figured out. I'm just not sure how they do the backpack under the pit zip and coming through the chest zip, and how they do the gravity pocket. Any acronym owners who could give me reference pics, or explain? I'm thinking of three potential jacket designs. one is a knee-length coat to be worn on its own, one is a normal jacket to be worn on its own in hotter months with the vents exposed OR worn under my thermoball in the winter, OR one that's the first jacket but it zips up to waist length somehow. I'm making my own because I'm too poor and I need a jacket that can specifically hold my surface pro on my person, no jacket thus far has had the pocket space AND breathability I require. Fabric reccommendations for lining and main fabric? For the surface pro pocket, should it be stealthy and interior, or should it be one of the chest flak pockets?

New/fa/g here, what exactly is techwear? Not to start a huge debate or anything
>>
>>9040925
What shoes are those?
>>
>>9044243
"Technical clothing is any garment that, through advanced fabric, treatment, cut, or construction, provides a function beyond hiding nudity. Some older examples of technical clothing that you may recognize are, traditional or heritage garments like rubber boots and waxed jackets, and armed forces uniforms. Some newer examples are hiking gear and sports/athletic clothes. Techwear or Urban Techwear, is a subset of technical clothing with an aesthetic that is contemporary or futuristic, fashionable/stylish, and is designed specifically for your common city-dweller's day-to-day situations. "

From http://dressed-down.com/, which is a good overview as long as you don't take it all as some definitive taxonomy.
>>
>>9044209

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the production side, so I can't really help you there.

IMHO though, I think the tablet pocket should be an interior one. Just because I would want it to be as far from potential rain as possible.
>>
>>9044209
Repost this next techwear general. I can do some fabric schooling but this thread will probably be dead before I can.

>>9045194
It doesn't matter how far it is from rain as long as it's properly sealed, although an interior pocket is still an ace idea, simply because you're not going to be removing it outdoors (so, who cares if you have to open the jacket) most of the time and it gives you more design flexibility.

Well it fits with the urban techwear theme. Can't get any more urban than pants aimed at deskjob biker and courier crowd.
