>>8962000
Oh God. I'm not saying this to pick on you, but if anything has ever illustrated why "is x techwear" is a nonuseful question, why thinking of "techwear" as a coherent category is nonuseful, it's this.

What's really going on with all of this is that older clothing codes are collapsing, and new ones finally influenced again by function, changed material conditions beyond moving the sweatshops, and the changed texture of everyday life and society are starting to develop.

Of fucking course a hack designer doing a collaboration with the world's second largest clothing retailer is going to be getting in on that.

Does it have much to do with the kind of stuff we normally talk about in techwear threads? I don't think really think so. Literally the only context I can read the guy in the lookbook as existing in is that he's just left his office in East Midtown on a winter evening and gone to a boxing gym, because he thinks he's tough like that. The kind of challenge he perceives is almost exactly an opposite number to the kind our protagonists usually do.

And if you want to look at the bare garments stripped of any context... it's one of those "what do you think about..." / "I don't." things. Some of them may have nonzero utility, but I can't imagine a single person who knows about anything else wanting them except maybe because they say "WANG" in big letters, either out of super basic brand affection, because they're Bart Simpson, or because they're a gay guy trying to get laid by grown up gay Bart with his basic brand affection.
>>
>>8962100
Jesus dude I love techwear and really like these threads but you're taking this shit way to seriously.

I'm just getting into techwear for the ND & MN winter. It's extremely practical for walking the ~1 mile to Uni and for my stints in the oil field. I'm going to dump all the pleb stuff I've copped or plan on copping initially to get me started.

I would enjoy inspiration for hats if possible.

I've found an 80% cotton / 20% cashmere blend to be better than a pure blend of either. Warm, yet thin for layering. Nice if you can't afford baby alpaca.

A&F is obviously awful but they occasionally show remnants of when they used to make quality outdoor equipment. The market is pushing them away from branding every product, too. They have their blends down. ~$40 on their regular sales.

Planning on getting into the man leggings + shorts aesthetic for rollerblading and jogging to the gym. I usually hate Nike and Under Armor clothing (basicbitch), but it seems they are the best in this case, and I don't want to spend more than a $100 on meggings.

I'm not that guy, and I don't necessarily agree with everything he's saying in that post--but dude, this is a fucking fashion board. We talk about fashion here. This is a place for no-life plebs like you and me and him to sit down in front of a screen and type how we feel about fashion. There is no "taking it too seriously" here. Either you talk about it seriously, you post interesting images, or you're a worthless shitposter like yourself.

I like what he had to say because it was a unique angle on a subject we all care about.

I own these and love'em. Really depends on how you intend to utilize them when deciding to cop or not. Aesthetically they're not that attractive but as far as functionality they're great. I use them for backpacking in the woods and for that purpose they excel, great tread and stabilization, they also incorporate gore-tex so they are waterproof. They're also very durable but surprisingly lightweight for a hiking boot most because of proprietary outsole and cushioning system salomon uses. Basically for any outdoor pursuits they should be your go to boot.

I've got one, pic related. I like it, but it's very athletic. Almost looks odd to not wear it with shorts. Even the smallest size isn't so small, and you've really got to fill it out (sweet pecs are a must)

>>

Any milsurp place/cop outlet. They're Blackhawk Cool Weather Shooting Gloves.

They're sort of middle of the road gloves. Good for fall, but not heavy duty cold resistant. Comfy and breathing though. Water resistant fleece or some shit.

Yeah, I don't usually find myself having to punch people in the face when I shoot.

Looks neat, love the brand, but wouldn't cop as it doesn't seem to have water resistance. (sucks when a bag gets wet)
>>
i need a running jacket and could cop a nike gyakusou one for 50 bucks. it's XL but it's like 2 sizes smaller, right? is it actually a good functional jacket for running or just a gimmick?
>>
>>8973579
Water resistance is super easy to treat most fabrics with.
>>
>>8973510
thumbs up to you beautiful fashionable woman.
>>
>>8974017
True, but it's generally not AS effective.
>>
>>8974697
Water resistance isn't very effective period. You want a waterproof bag or dry bags or a rain cover if you actually want your stuff to survive a rainstorm.
>>
>>8975080
True true, any non-shit looking goretex bags
>>
what do you guys think of H&M x AW sneaker boots? it looks pretty waterproof?
