Also what's the best choice for color? I was thinking that black is the safe choice or go with a brown.

I have a kanken 2 which has a different fabric from the regular kanken. It came waxed and very waterproof, the wax has rubbed off a bit so I should probably reapply it soon, but it's still been keeping my stuff dry. I have no idea if the regular kanken is less waterproof, though.

I bought one and returned it the same day because the leather pull tab ripped off. Another friend bought a different model and the zippers broke pretty quickly. I have to say they look really nice, but they're garbage at least in my experience.

I have a Kanken Laptop 17" bag in Royal Blue. I love this shit, my only complaint is that the little pocket on the side is nearly useless. I just wish it was a bit more flexible to hold a bigger bottle. Everything else is great.
