I'm looking for a nice looking, simple but functional pair of hiking shoes or boots, the more versatile the better.
My style is sort of Engineered Garments meets vintage New England preppy meets "comfycore" with a Japanese flavor I guess. My colors are mostly drab grey, blue, charcoal, tan, and sometimes browns and olive green. I'm slowly getting back into wearing black.

Pardon for being turbo meme, but I have a old pair of AF1s and I just found a beat up pair of smiths that I found at value village for $7. Put new inserts in them and they are both comfy as hell, especially the AF1s.

for what it's worth, I own a pair of stans and I find that irl it looks too plastic-y and bright. I've also found that the color of your legs and/or socks can really change how the stans look. I think all I'm saying is, af1's are probably a little safer, but stans can work with some extra effort

Those are pretty good too, but I feel like they lack the bulkiness of these.
Also, I think these work really well as a statement piece when couples with an otherwise minimalistic style, like example in pic related (different shoes but same feel).
