I think people get the pencil eraser feel mostly from the older crepe sole/stapled soles (dunks for example). Those are legit like pencil eraser rubber - they wear down far too quickly. Newer ones are much more durable.

Not all leathers are made in Moldova. I haven't seen a blistered lamb one made in the last 4 years which wasn't Moldova however.

Fake Raccs are pretty easy to spot as they look like they're made from Tin - they mar and scratch incredibly easy, whereas real ones hold up superb. I've had racc zip stuff for years and they still look like new
