Just got a GMT-Master II from my dad. It's from the late 90's and the papers/box are in a different country.
What is the first thing I should do? He hasn't serviced it since he got it, and it was an everday watch of his for a couple of years until he got a Seamaster. It's in awesome condition still.
I really like the Orient Bambino v2, especially the blue-handed one, but they're hard to find. Are there any Seiko like it? I don't like divers because I have bitch wrists.

Personally I'm wearing steinhart ocean one on a daily basis and cant imagine I would need any other watch - matches me, my both work and personal outfits, lifestyle and it's robust, solid and it only costed my a little over £300 including shipping - if that's not versatile then i don't know what is. If you're looking for a maximum amount of features then go get one of them casio wrist calculators.

The watch is currently being sold for ~3000€ on Chrono24, in good condition. Retail price was ~4500-5000€ last time I checked. I don't think it's going to drop that much further in price, unless it gets really worn. And I'm very much aware that it won't gain value either, as one would expect if they'd view it as an investment.

Maybe in like 1930. Synthetic jewels don't cost much and any modern movement should have more than enough jewels on all the bearings that require them. Actually the Seagull 1963s all have 21 jewels as far as I know. The original watch made for the air force in the 60s had 19 jewels but when Seagull updated the movement to re-release the modern version they upgraded it to have 21 jewels. For some reason they decided to print 19 anyway on some of the watches to be more true to the original and on other watches they print 21 jewels which is the actual number. There's also another variant of that movement Seagull makes with 23 jewels.

I didn't even get a box or certificates or anything. The scratches are pretty deep, a few short ones on the bezel and some long ones on the bracelet. Every link shows wear, I'm guessing it's been worn for at least 5 years but the lumination is completely out, so it must be older than 15.

"SWISS MADE" as a legal trademark was a measure adopted by Switzerland to ensure that "Swiss" watches were at least majority made in Switzerland (Prior to the 1968 ruling and 1971 codifying, there were hundreds of "Swiss" brands that had a single Swiss part in them or merely passed through Switzerland.
A "SWISS MADE" item must be at least 50% Swiss in origin, and the most important part must be made in Switzerland.
In the case of a watch, this means that at least 50% of the value of the watch must originate in Switzerland and the movement must be Swiss.
Most companies barely scrape by with their designs (cases made in China and finished in Switzerland etc, Movements produced in China and assembled in Switzerland), but there are a few high end who do manage a near 100% Swiss supply chain (Rolex, PP, etc.), whilst on the other end of the spectrum, there are watches that can't even meet the bare standard and mark themselves as something similar (ie. "SWISS" then model number, in the case of RADO).

Yes and no; it's easy to skirt by not using "SWISS MADE" and it's never enforced.
Using "SWISS" as a prefix to an object is restricted (ie. "Swiss Watch", "Swiss Chocolate", "Swiss Clothing"), but there is no restriction on what you can use it in.
The movement inside (I assume a customized Ronda/ETA that is marked as a "Rado 3317 movement") is likely what is being marked as Swiss.
If a company can use SWISS MADE, they will (exceptions generally being reissues of older watches, that were marked as "SWISS" before "SWISS MADE" was restricted..

In Chinese fake watch stores, there are the watches you see displayed on the counter, which are 20 USD (although they'll charge you as much as you'll pay), and then there are the "nice watches," which you have to ask for and are high quality fakes that go for around 100 USD. I always wondered where those fakes came from; maybe they come from Chinese factories that make "Swiss" luxury watches.
